Vekoma track spotted at Six Flags Great America

Posted | Contributed by SFGA2001

Out with the old, in with the new. While no formal announcement has been made, it's pretty obvious that a super invertigo is headed for Six Flags Great America.

Check the evidence on this unofficial SFGAm site.

Well, half the deed is done. Now all we need is a formal announcement.

And what about the Intamin track? I pray that it'll be open in May, but I'm starting to doubt that fact. Just taking it one step at a time I guess. Now where is my damn season pass mailing?
Well it's official,

Vekoma now only makes track in bright green.

X-Flight @SFWoA!
This flight won't be cancelled!
From what I've been told, the "official" announcement for the Vekoma coaster should happen on March 1st. That is also the day that Season Passes go on sale (which, compaired to the REST of the SF chain, it REALLY REALLY LATE!!).

Anyway, we should be getting our pass mailings the first week of March.

I have no info to report on the Impulse coaster, except to say that the footers are 100% complete.

Why is everything green now???? We just survived the purple and yellow era. After all, Lucky Charms teaches us that there are many more colors out there to discover. But, it is my home park and I am glad to see something new!
FINALY!! NEW TRACK!!! It's about time wouldn't you say??? I think they are going to put the skywhirl someplace else in the park maybe next year, other wise, why for the love of god isn't it gone yet? HMMMMMM?????

Life is like A rollercoster FUN!!!!
What makes you think that about SKY WHIRL? As incredibly wonderful as that would be, and with as much as I would do for that to happen, it's not going to. I know this for sure. Where did you get that idea from?
Sweet!

2 for 1 in 2001;SFGAm all the way!!
its about time we see some track
So what will SFGA cost this year? 40+ bucks per person, 13 bucks to park, and 22 bucks for a hot dog sounds about right. You'll need a credit check if you add fries.
Wow this looks sweet, I can't wait to visit their in 2002, hopefully
Good point, Coaster Freak, I wonder if they give employees discounts if they are there for pleasure. That was funny about the credit check!
Eddie, I know when I worked for SFGA in 90 & 91, we had free admission on our days off... but we paid full price for the food and games. In 1990 I started at $4.25 per hour. So where does all of that income go? It sure wasn't to the employees.
When are we going to see some construction pictures?? I've heard that they have already started on one of the coasters, but i have not see anything here.
