Vegas Coasters

I just found out along with going to SFMM and KBF my family will be going to Las Vegas.  I searched and no results came up, so what rides should I ride?  How much are they?  How long would it take to ride everything in Las Vegas excluding the Circus Circus place?  Unless th Circus Circus thing is really cool.
-----------------
You could hit everything in one day if you wanted to.

- Definitly hit the stratosphere for the Big Shot (scariest ride in the world in my opinion), you can pass on the high roller.

- Definitly hit Speed: The Ride @ Sahara, its a good ride.

- Canyon Blaster @ Circus Circus isn't anything too exciting, you can skip it.

- Since your coming/going from California your most likely going to pass Prim Valley where the Desperado Hypercoaster is.... its a nice ride, and if your passing by, Ride it! It's quite a bit aways from Vegas itself so you'll want to hit it when traveling by.

- Manhattan Express, well, its OK... go ride Desperado first to get a buy 1 get 1 free coupon... the ride is a ripoff at full price (I think its up to 10$+ now? [$10.25?]... it really isnt THAT great of a ride, but if your there, you mind as well check it out. Make sure the restraint isnt resting right on your shoulders, it will be very uncomfortable if you do. However, I still love the feeling of that weird loop element thing.... but overall, not that great.

For some reason I have a feeling I am forgetting something....

Try to hit everything, and have fun!

Actually, the Adventuredome is the best value. Grab a hotel magazine, or get a casino funbook, and there is a $4 off ride all day coupon for there. Total price is like $12.95. Also in the magazines, there are buy one get one free ride coupons for Manhattan Express, Speed, and Desperado. There are casino packages for Express and Desperado. If you buy a ride all day at Buffalo Bills, or just ride out there, you will get a voucher for Express.

You can book a trip at NYNY for like $7-$10, you get a round trip to Primm, with a bunch of coupons for the casino, rides, and shopping outlets. The Hi-Roller can be ridden in a Grand Tower package. You have to pay to get to the top, so add the Big Shot, and for about $3 more, you can add the coaster. If you add it while you are at the top, it will cost you $6-$7.

Another with Speed, if you use the buy one get one free, you can re-ride for a few dollars more. Before you go, check the casino websites, as they often add online coupons if the 'fiscal quarters' are slow, since the big visitor markets come from California and they bring the kids along on the weekends. All casinos have funbooks with coupons for the rides and attractions.

If you are underage and need stuff to do, there is a free shuttle from the Stardust and the San Remo to Sam's Town on the Boulder Strip, which has a new AMC movie complex, and 24 hour bowling. All casinos with bowling are 24 hours.

Speed is $8 for two rides... and you should probably plan for two days incase one of the rides is closed (Big Shot and Desperado usually)
I just got back from Vegas, and I definetly reccomend the following:
1)- Speed - This is probably the best coaster in Vegas. Hit this one, buy the all day pass for $12.95, and just pick a 4th car seat and stay on all day! (never a line)
2)- Big Shot - possibly the scarriest ride ever, make sure you get up there to ride it. Its only 8 dollars, but I learned a trick. Weave your way to the deck where thay show the on-ride photos, and there is a lady there who sells re-rides for $3! She'll sell it to you, most likely. At the top of the tower, theres this braking mechanism that gives you a full 4 seconds of airtime. Pretty crazy stuff!
3)- Desperato, or M.E. - If you are passing by Buffalo Bills, definetly hit Desperato. Even though its an arrow hyper, Its one of the best hypers i've ridden becuase of the things it does, like the shallow drop where its *supposedly* reaches 85 mph. If you dont stop here, I reccomend the Manhattan Express only under one condition - Reserve the front row. Its really easy to do, just when you get up there, tell the person you want the front row. I wont write it again, but see my TR why. Like the others said, theres usually coupons for both these rides, as $10 is pretty big for M.E.
Circus Circus is only good when you have coupons, and you're there early. With coupon, the all day unlimited wristband is only $12.95, so I guess its worth it.That place is a complete madhoue after 12 noon, so get there early and be sure to do C.B. (kinda weak, but ok), Chaos, and possibly inverter.
Any more details see my TR.

How much more floorless can they get?

You can get all day pass at Sahara for Speed and Nascar for 18 bucks, or 13 with a coupon. The regular price for Speed all day is 13, so it would be a good value if you can find the coupon. I don't think they have coupons for just Speed alone. You can find them everywhere. I always pick them up at the Barstow Outlets. They are far more plentiful there. While you are there, don't forget to check out The Palms, Vegas' newest resort!
Is the Lightning Bolt still running at MGM Grand?
I had a room at Paris witha view of MGM grand adventures, and I never once saw it running. The whole park is a ghost town, now that its used for private functions.

The Park wont be a ghost town come tuesday the 8th. We are having a full park function for 1500 guests. I'll be working the Lightning Bolt!
I recommend Speed and Canyon Blaster @ Circus Circus. I thought Canyon Blaster was a very nice multi-looper. Probably the smoothest Arrow multi-looper around. Big Shot on top of Stratosphere AT NIGHT (WOW!). Manhattan Express is worth a single ride, but probably not multi-rides (It's very expensive and not all too good).

And the RIO buffet!!!!!! Not a coaster, but dont skip it!

My other car is a Giovanola!

Speed is a must and Canyon Blaster is good. Everything else is ok. But if you really want to fear death take a ten seater plane to the Grand Canyon. Oh boy, now thats a thrill ride like no other. Its the best 200 bucks you can spend if you want to gamble with the Reaper.
The Rido Buffet might as well be a ride...it has Fastpass.

"ok everyone go ahead and pull down on your shoulder restraint so you feel nice and stuck!"

I would imagine the Stratosphere bigshot is better at night, and not quite as scary, but much more surreal???  I have never ridden it, and it scares the crap out of me just thinking about it.

LOL!  Thats because that food is great.  That whole casino is my favorite one in vagas, even though I am to young to gamble.  I go for buffet and that cool sky parade.  Anyways...I am going to be heading up to Utah and will be stoping in Vegas both on the way there and on the way back.  I wont do anything on the way there but on the way back im going on Speed and Desperado.  I might do Speed twice or more seeing how its one of my favorites.  Desperado is going to be a first for me since when ever I get my parents to stop there it is closed for one reason or another.  Does anybody know if it will be open or not for the next week?  If you do, thanks.
nasai: That thing scares the crap out of me too.  I went by that thing when they were buildin it and they started building the tower sideways so they had to start over.  That right there got me scared seeing the thing a little sideways.  Even though they fixed it, I have never really liked that thing.

I rode it in the day, and it still scares the crap out of me.

GO CU! Big 12 Champs!

You CAN NOT miss Canyon Blaster or The Adventuredome at all. Canyon Blaster itself in my very honest opinion is a much better ride than Desperado. Don't let Desperado's looks fool you. Although it is one of the tallest, fastest, and longest coasters in the world, it is in no way an enjoyable ride. Ride Desperado just for your track count. Canyon Blaster on the other hand, is a very smooth, well themed, double corkscrew, double vertical loop coaster with canyon tunneling and abudant airtime and non-stop speed. It's great. This is how I rank the Southern Nevadan thrills by value and overall experience (I can do so after 10 or so visits to Vegas over my lifetime -

1) The Adventuredome (One price for alot of rides)

2) The Big Shot

3) Speed : The Ride

4) Manhattan Express

5) Star Trek : The Experience

6) Turbo Drop

7) Desperado

The Big Shot was sweet.  I rode it about a month ago when I visited Vegas.  We rode it at midnight and the wind was freakin blowing up there like a hurricane!  I thought it was insane and paid my $3 to re-ride it.

It scared the crap out of two of my friends, and they immediately headed back to the elevator white as ghosts.  Myself and my other three friends rode it again.  I would definitely suggest riding it at night, it also gives you a crazy view of the city.

If you can you should ride Desperado first because on the ticket stub there is a coupon for Manhattan Express.  I'm not sure if it's still on there though.  Also, make sure you get on Big Shot.  I went on it during the day and it still freaked me out.  It was amazing!
