Vampire at Chessington Worlds of Adventure

Vampire a suspended coaster is fitted with new vekoma floorless trains. Has anyone heard anything whether it will open on April 8 like the website says or will it be delayed and what is the progress. And if so is anyone going to go ride it soon? And if you aregoing can you snap some pitures of the train? Thanks

it has already been delayed! it was originally supposed to open march 22nd along with the rest of the park, but yet again vekoma let us down!

the trains had their first test run today, and both test runs went well, so it should re-open for the 8th.

there are currently no pictures of the trains, but i am sure many will appear soon!

Does anyone know the demensions of the ride? like speed, track length, ect...?

Hows do you know it was Vekoma's fault?

If the shoe fits, find another one.

I'm HOPING to check this ride out. A group of us is getting to London the day before the ACE Europe tour officially starts, and is thinking that Chessington might be a good sidetrip for that day.

It was'nt techniclly Vekoma's Fault, but because Vekoma went bankrupt, construction on the New Vampire was delayed for a good 2-3 weeks which clearly didnt help, If these problems didnt arrise, the Ride would have opened on schedule on March 23rd.

At Present, The Ride successfully tested TWICE on Tuesday 2nd April, and things looked good, there will be more testing tomorrow(Thursday 4th) and if things go well, we might see an offical opening on 13th April. Although the offical page is saying 9th April, I wouldnt believe it just yet, Surely it seems strange to start testing the ride for the first time, and then open it exactly 1 week later.

Still, lets wait and see what happens, It could very well be that the 9th of April is a Soft Opening maybe?????

I am really psyched about all the retrofitting of coasters/trains/restraint systems...it sure has made a vast improvement on the spaghetti-bowls, and The Chiller seems to have been a rousing success. Add to that PR, and I'm very happy about the "new" rides..and it sure is cheaper/easier for the parks than dismantling and building a new coaster from scratch....
i have a piece of the Vekoma wrapping tape from the deliveries of the new cars, to which i got arrested for, and for taking pics but still have the tape... spoke to officials in guest services at Chessington they say it's possibly the 17th April.. 4 exit passes for opening day were obtained on arrest & complaining about security treatment!!
