Valleyfair has problems with Steel Venom, misses opening day

Valleyfair's new Intamin Impulse coaster, Steel Venom, did not open with the park last weekend as some electrical component failed the morning of opening day. The park expects the ride to open next weekend.

I rode it twice today on less than 20 minutes wait.

Good ride on the front car.

Waited longer to ride the Wild Thing.

I waited much shorter to ride Wild Thing, but the wait for Steel Venom was surely worth the extra time. I was wondering...does anybody know if the holding LIMs on Steel Venom are supposed to be at random - because of the 2 other identical impulses I've been on (Superman Ultimate Escape @ SFWOA, and V2: Vertical Velocity @ SFGA), both hold every ride. The crew in the station just said that it was working off and on all day, but they might just be covering up the fact that its a random hold.

Also, for anyone who is planning to ride it - its really good in either the front seat or the back seat. The front seat gives you the twisting action, but the back seat gives you the "leaving the earth" feeling - facing down, while flying up backwards! I recommend the back seat, cause I like seeing how high up I really am.
