Valleyfair! 2006- Floorless or Inverted?

You know what I'd love if we didn't get a coaster for '06?

A MaxAir where Northern Lights stands now.

Can you imagine that? Swooping over the algae pond? Buzzing the train on one side, the PT bridge on the other? DAYUM.

*gasp... did you say you don't want a coaster. For shame!!! :)

i'm not sure what to put here..

Playa, sort of like how I want a S&S Sky Swatter over the pond in the middle of Michigan's Adventure? Can't you imagine diving headfirst at the water? INSANE!

Why don't we just compromise and throw WildThing's midcourse breaks into the pond.
YESS!!. Thats the best idea yet. And it doesn't cost alot of money. Genious!! Everyone wins. :)

I like the idea of a maXair ride there, CO. I also like the idea of getting rid of the midcourse brake on TameThing. When we go to VF later this year (mark you calendar 'Playa, we'll be there Sept 24th...going to Cirque du Soleil that night) I hope they run it with the brake open as everytime I have been on it, it crawled through the second half even worse then Mamba did last season.

And Wild Thing's brakes, too, while we're at it ;)

Why do they have to hit the midcourses on those Morgan hypers *SO* ridiculously hard? I mean, come on, give us a LITTLE bit of air on those return bunnies....we paid our admission to the park! ;)

Steel Eel, Mamba, Steel Force, all got NAILED...Steel Eel probably DID the most after the midcourse, but that's the one I caught as part of an event, so it's hard to tell. Man, if they let those things RUN free, they'd be almost as good as an RoS (just with worse trains)...;)

Rocket coaster - expen$ive, big splashy flat -MUCH cheaper (with a beautiful lighting package, over water)....that's an easy pick for a park that already HAS a launch...

Final thought: SLCs are *technically* inverts as well....muwahahaha! ;)

I want a B&M inverted coaster for VF not a floorless, not a rocket, not a flyer. I can ride Raptor(My No.1 inverted) all day long very rerideable ride. I can't wait for Falcon to come to VF.
Raptor's your #1 invert?

Someone please send this guy to Florida. Quickly. You'll revise your list with a quickness. I promise.

FL? Yep, me loves "my inverted friends" Montu and esp. Fire Dragon, but THE invert for me, is still the one on the NC/SC border...
Raptor is my number one invert (for B&M anyway) and I have been to FL. Ever since they stopped using those midcourse trims, that ride has been off the hook.
Bill, you can't honestly love the Fire Dragon more than Montu. Montu kicks both Dragons' butt. And what's this Top Gun love you have going on? ;)

I am planning to go to Florida( My 1st time) this june on my coaster trip and hope to ride Montu and Dueling Dragons at least 5 times each. Trip is PKI,Dollywood,Lake Winne,SFOG,Visionland,SFNO,Wild Adv.,BGT,DW,IOA,DAYTONA USA(Non coaster stop),Myrtle Beach,PCW,HersheyPark,DP,SFGADV,CP,Wisconsin coaster stops(Hades).
Better plan some "off days" in there otherwise you'll burn-out before you trip is over. Coasters aren't everything and you are going through some beautiful country that has a rich history. Take advantage of it.

Swoosh...after literally hundreds of rides, I still consider Ice Dragon to be little better than the good SLCs. Fire, and that wraparound Immelman, and the air hill, and the swooping (Swooshing?) FEEL of *dragon flight*, is blissful. I'll bet I've gotten 3 laps on Fire for every one on Ice over the last 3 years, LOL.

Top Gun love? That was ALL from the second (most recent) visit to PCar, where I *accidentally* ran into Joe C and Homey G....got some AWESOME rides that day on TG:TJC....(that was also when I *realized* that PCar is THE park in the chain that REALLY knows how to maintain the wood)...

Top Gun, Fire Dragon are the two really unique inverts of the old breed....Silver Bullet, THAT'S the one to clone for VF...oops, said the bad word, LOL...;)

Honestly, clones ARE good investments...and SB, with the SWEET overbank, and that REALLY nice finishing leg, is even better than Talon (which I also wanted to clone, but that never happened)...

Can someone please explain to me how Wild Thing cost 10 million dollars and Steel Venom cost 8 or 9 million? Is it just the time factor (built in the 90s vs '03 or are LIMs really that expensive?

I have no idea about the actual costs of the coasters, but assuming your right, and messing around with an inflation calculator gives you:

Wild Thing (1996) 10 million? in 2003 would cost 11.5 million and 2005 12.1 million.

Steel Venom 8.5 million for sure, would be 8.9 million today.

I also am of the belief that WOF will be getting a coaster next season, however, I am not certain Moosh's suggestion that the old Forum theater is where it will go.

It seems more logical to me that using part of the old OE footprint would make more sense, especially consdiering they left the station intact, and that is great 'advertising' land along the interstate side of the park. Maybe a layout from OE towards TW???

I also agree with Swoosh that SD was not intended to replace OE, as the two could have lived together. It seems plain ole' old age sent OE to her grave...

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
I think that station would need some "retrofitting" for a B&M. With the name patriot trademarked and most resonable speculation pointing to wof I would suspect the coaster to be in the Americana section, but of course Coasters is in Africa so I guess anything goes there anymore.
