I thought I would just share this. Construction is underway for Steel Venom in 2003. I have been driving by every couple of days now. The area over by Challange park and by the go carts it different, all torn up. Right now it just looks like piles of dirt. I havent spotted any tracks yet but if I do I will yet you buzzers know. I'll keep you update.

The real question--will VF promote their project as the other CF parks have? (Webcam, construction photos, etc.) There are plenty of vantage points to mount cams; WT's lift hill and the Skycoaster tower readily come to mind.

After all, if WOF can post photos for a mere Boomerang...

Hey now, that was WOF's webcam. I can't help it if VF isn't "good" enough to have their own webcam.

EDIT: Swoosh had a huge brain fart and will admit that he while he was NOT wrong, he was a little short on being right. :-P

It certainly did have a webcam, and what a colorful coaster to see come together.

Is it going to be the same as Superman: Ultimate Escape (SFGAdv?), Or will it be like Wiked Twister? Or a different one? Any body know?

I suppose I should take the time now to say I have changed my mind on WT and believe VF management made a great choice for the park.

What changed my mind? A few spins on WT last Saturday (one in the second from last row, one in row 3). The difference between WT and a standard Impulse is not the height or even the twist in the back IMHO--it's that extra 120 degrees of rotation in the twists. Even going forward, it's a huge, earthshaking incredible difference. Wow! What a kick in the pants.

That having been said, that extra 120 degrees is just great for an extremist like me but a bit much for the GP...especially for GP who aren't used to the likes of MF, Raptor or otherwise testing the extremes ride-wise. For those reasons, I have to admit it's a good pick for the park.

BTW, CBaby loved WT to death and can't wait for May '02.
