With the addition of this ride, another ride is being removed. The swing will take the place of the Northern Lights which will be permanently removed from the park following maintenence issues it's had in the past couple years.
Obviously, other than what I have just typed, I have no actual proof that I can post to this board so don't bother to ask.
Anyways, it should make a nice addition, though I'm sad to see Northern Lights go.
Also, talk of moving the waterpark has died down but not gone away. So far, there are no concrete plans for the '07 season so anyone that tells you otherwise is making it up.
I'm not quite sure why they show you this, but I believe you none the less.

I assume you are the same Drew I've seen elsewhere, and if so, I'd be the first to likely believe you.
This sounds like a good investment for the park, and I wonder if any other parks in the chain will get one as well.
....and a well-run Fallig Star can be a thing of beauty...
...and Cedar Fair's relationship with S&S looks fine....forces me to wonder, LOL...IF Cedar Fair were looking for a woodie for *any* of their parks...who WOULD they go to? ;)
I also thought the *biggest* of the SSs was 32 peeps....hmmm...
I'll let ya know what I think of ValleyFair....soon... :)
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
Yes, I'm the Drewbie you've seen before talking about VF. So far the only thing I've been wrong in predicting for them was the moving of the waterpark to being a second gate over by the employee dorms. The only reason I was wrong on that was because management changed their minds/didn't have the money.
Anyways, they signed the deal for the Screaming Swing last year while Northern Lights was on the fritz all the time. They had 2 years of lots of maintenence costs before this years flawless operation, but the papers were already signed so it's moving on.
As far as the capacity questions, the plans I saw had 4 seperate towers, so basically 2 rides that ran independantly and just happened to be sitting next to each other. So basically you've got a 20 person ride sitting next to a 20 person ride rather than one single 40 person one. Ups capacity in the same way power tower does I suppose.
I can't wait to get out there next year and ride this thing.
i'm not sure what to put here..

B&M stands for Boring and mundane? At CF parks, maybe. But let's face it--it would go over HUGE with the GP. VF's only looping coaster is still an Arrow Corkscrew!
I'm about 85% certain it's gonna be the site of a new flat ride...but i'll admit could just as soon be an element of a custom B&M with a lift hill that starts where the ampitheater stands now.
On the other hand, an 'interactive' B&M coaster element could just as soon stand where Supercat stands now. I'm betting on a flat ride on the site.
Anyone else been seen the site this weekend?
