V2: Vertical Velocity brake downs?

I was at Six Flags Great America on Tuesday. When I was in line an watching V2 a couple of times during the 4 times up and down the spiral when it comes back to the station it stalls and brakes down. Why does this happen? I had to wait an additional 15 minutes extra because of the brake down or stalls.

It happens for many reasons. Break downs occur usually when the computer running the ride comes across a bug, which causes it to stall (like Titan did today, and the media litterally flew all over it.) Another thing is the LIMS have problems to be worked out, and they overheat. I'm sure by this time 2 months from now most of the problems will be worked out.

One quick question, You know where they hold you for the brake stain on the spike? Well, What happens if that gets stuck? Will it ever, It could be very possiable. We might not see it right away but, we'll see.

Which v2 are u talking about

If it gets stuck, I'd be scared. They are really LIMs, not standard brakes. That means if they get stuck holding the train, they somehow lost the ability to cut power, I think that something much worse than being stuck up there would be happening.

Also, there is apparently a line of sensors somewhere between the gates (queue lines) and track, which will stop the train if they are crossed. I wouldn't want to be in the ride path of that thing when it comes through...

The ride has gotten stuck on the straight spike. Nothing major though. Anyone see that board by Deja Vu? Openning 2002. That sucks! but I still hear they are trying for Fright Fest.
