V2 Problems at SFGAM

I was at SFGAM on Saturday July 21 and V2 had tons of problems. It was broke down on and off through out the day. Some of the time it would over heat because it was in the upper 90s but other times it wouldn't park right in the station. They would rock the train back and forth but couldn't get it to park in the right spot for sensor to open the restraints. It broke down 6 times while I was in line for an hour and that was the fastlane line. I got stuck on it for a few minutes because it wouldn't park and they finally manually released the restraints. The mechanic was on the phone a lot and had to reset the system many times. So all and all what is going on with V2? I know new coasters have there share of problems but I would think they could get them worked out with SUE.
SUE never had any problem like this. Does V2 have cooling fans? On SUE they have fans that cool the lims off. I wonder if V2 has them.
Yes I am pretty sure V2 has cooling fans. I saw and heard them running. Also when you sit in the train you can feel the heat from the lims in the station.
How can V2 over heat? Seriously. When I was at SFGAm, I never saw V2 "over heat" or brake down. What's up with that?

V2 does defineately have fans.

"Get off of my moor you michtevous weeins." We prefer to stay" (eyes begin glowing) "Your thinking of hurting us." "Now your thinking, how did they know what I was thinking?" " But now your thinking, I hope that's Shepards Pie in my knickers"
It depends on the day you catch it. I went 3 times this year, and only once has V2 broken down, and when it reopened, we where one of the first people in line, and on the second train out.

It broke down twice while we were on the train when I was there in late June I know that they have been having trouble with this thing and are waiting for winter break to work out the bugs.
From my coastering experience I can remember working on Shockwave in the intense summer heat and prox switches going bad. The heat is a pain to more than just people.

Hmmm, Shockwave was a prototype megalooper, i wonder.

All LIM coasters overheat occasionally. B&R:TC overheated CONSTANTLY in '97...that's why it was only open 1 week that year. They got whole new LIM's and installed the fan system. When it re-opened in '98, the fan system worked perfectly and the ride ran normally. The fans are needed because all of the electricity that is passed through the magnets at that one moment in time creates a heck of a lot of heat! Anyway, I have no idea what is up with SFGAm V2. S:UE was running just fine when I was there last Tuesday.

KoЯn Rules! I just came out to feed!
V2 has been broken down, on and off, every time I have been there this season since it opened. One more reason to justify a FastLane pass. If V2 is running, get on it as quickly and as often as you can, because it's only a matter of time before it malfunctions again.

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) The Legend
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Mr. Freeze
I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PUBLIC PERSON TO GO ON V2. I was the first train on opening day. Me, me all me. hahahaha. : P V2 is fun.

Remeber important law of physics: What goes up, Must come down. Like v2, goes up, It has to stop some where, But, If it doesn't and over speeds, Where's it going to go? Ut oh.

Well the first time I went on it the restraints were stuck in only the first and second rows and we were in the second row. Then we went on it again and apparently we were going to fast because the ride ops were telling the mechanic that we were going 67 and they've never seen it go that fast b4 so they had to brake us in the middle of the ride. Then we had to wait in our seats for them to fix the ride. We got out and then they had to test it two times and they let us back in for a free ride again. It FINALLY worked right. They weren't even going to give us a free ride but we argued with them and got on it again. Alls i can say is that ride has some major problems but it is fun.

if i recall correctly vortex at PKI was the first megalooper. Shocwave was the first of the 3 7 lopping megaloopers we know and love

this v2 ride seems t break down a lot. at SFWoA, the v2 like ride, superman never broke down in the 5 times i was there
When I went to Six Flags Great America in July 12-18th with my Cedar Point trip I noticed the samething over and over. Everytime it came down from the spiral have the train kept getting stuck half way into the station half the train in and half out. Does it have something to do with the brakes? I was waiting in line 45 minutes every brakedown was an additional 20 to possible 25 minutes extra at times it was driving me crazy and other guests in line also! Plus why does the spiral tower shake??

see v2 breaks down @ Six Flags Great America because the ride ops. don't know what to do. I know it's a little mean to say but, I ALWAYS see ride ops. not consetrating on the ride and talking to others. They should pay more attention to the ride.
V2 doesn't have brakes, but LIMS that slow it down at the end.

As for the ride, S:UE at SFWOA very rarely has down time, and when it does, it usually opens up within the day.

And BTPCheater-- no one likes listening to people brag about something useless.

Yeah... So because the ride ops there talk, the ride has mechanical problems? That makes sense.

No ride ops don't cause a ride to break down. Yes some of the ride ops do stand around and talk but those are the ones on break or they overstaff the ride. Sometimes they have extra ops standing behind the control both and they talk so let them. They aren't loading and unloading people. V2 has one of the best crews and some of them are even ACE members. They are very knowledgable in the coaster feild and are very efficent.
