V2 or V squared??

I say V2 but my friend says V squared. Which one was ment to be?
It is meant to be V2 as in V two.  Because the full name is Vertical Velocity(2 V's)
I always say "V two". I don't like to think of math while I'm at an amusement park ("V squared" ;)). But I usually call it "Vertical Velocity" and all my friends do. When I ask them what they think it is they usually say "V Squared", there's your GP opinion.

Think of it as the V2 rocket.  Then you pronounce it V two

I say it V two, and so do the operators at SFMW.
Well, given that in the logo, the "2" is superscripted, that'd make it "V Squared"...

:)

So...you can't handle a rollercoaster huh? Well...you ARE the Weakest Link! Goodbye!

I think the majority of us would know one way or the other.  Just a matter of personal preference.  Outside of coaster enthusiast circles, you're probably better off calling it by it's full name "Vertical Velocity".

I rode "X" and never went upside down.
No matter what is mathematically correct, this is marketing and...
It is never referred to as "v-squared" by six flags parks, and they own it, so they can call it whatever they want, and they call it "V-Two" for short.

I won't debate that they call it V-Two, but then the "2" shouldn't be superscripted :) :) :)

But "squared" would mean Vertical Vertical, wouldn't it?  (as in, 3 squared is 3 x 3).  Not that it's important, but I am a stickler for detail.  Shouldn't be superscripted.
Well, the thing does have 2 towers...

That said, I think I'd take what the park calls it as its name. If they say it's "V Two", it's "V Two".

RCT hypercoaster crazy!

Well, let's go back to the wonderful world of SFKK here...

They have a ride called T2...and it stands for Terror to the Second Power, making it Terror Squared.  Now, V2 at SFMW and SFGAm stands for Vertical Velocity, which has nothing to do with anything being to the second power.  So, it is therefore pronounced V TWO!

The logo is V^2, which is V Squared, but it seems like most people just say V2.

You have to admit though ... calling it 'V Squared' makes it sound like an algebra solution and not a coaster name.

nyk

I call it V squared! V^2=VV which stands for Vertical Velocity. Just my take on things.

I think its called V2, the reason its a little 2 on the logo is only because it looks cool, and logos are supposed to look cool and that logo does look cool so it makes perfect sense.
-----------------
I think it's V squared, but I always call it V2.  I'll just start saying Vertical Velocity.

1. Alpengeist, 2. Magnum XL-200, 3. Superman: Ride of Steel (SFNE), 4. Volcano: The Blast Coaster, 5. Apollo's Chariot
The logo is V^2 (V-squared) or Veritcal Velocity. End of story.

Ozzfest - June 8 - Drowning Pool, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Black Sabbath

I'll refer to my pervious comment.  It really doesn't matter what YOU think it should be, it matters what six flags calls it, they own it, they named it, and they can call it whatever ever they want, and they call it V-TWO for short.
