V2 is reopened at Marine World after modifications

Six Flags Marine World debuts its modified Impulse coaster with a twist over the entrance. The park had to make changes to the ride after the city cited them for violating zoning height regulations.

that does not look half as good as the other impulses

I just want to ride as many coasters as posible

I wonder if this angled spiral spike is more thrilling than the way it was before.
All I've heard from people who have ridden it is that it is either the same or better than the older version.

-----------------

Hmmmmm, maybe we'll see a version with 2 45* angles and a spiral on each side
So technically now V2 has an inversion right? It looks pretty cool to me.
Well, I'll be there on July 3 to give it a shot, and if people are still wondering at that point I'll be sure to report back how it it.

But it looks like a ton of fun to me.

Sometimes it's up. Sometimes it's down.
But with God, life is one thrill ride that you'll never regret being on.

Yeah, I'll be going July 4 (ackk). Hopefully the crowds are not too bad, all I really want to hit are Medusa, V2, and Roar.

How much more floorless can they get?

I just rode the new V2 yesterday and it WAS AWESOME! Its waaayyyy more thrilling than the old version. I love stalling upside down! I actually kinda feel bad for the other people that have to live with the older impulses! Sounds like everyone is a little suprised on how great the new V2 really is!

V2 doesn't look at the good now. It also looks like the back spike was cut in half. To me, this impluse just wont be the same compared to the other ones. I can't believe they re-modeled the ride. :(

I think it looks like a very good ride... and there's nothing like a unique coaster!

This looks like *much* more fun than the Wicked Twister - which I was really disappointed with last month. I think the incline straight rail above the spiral would really accentuate the effects of the spiral. You'd probably hit the spiral at two different speeds, producing slightly different effects on the riders. I wish CP would have done this instead!

I'd have to wait until I actully had a spin on the thing, since it looks very Volcanoish to me.

Seems interesting. Ugly but Thrilling :)

This whole ride makes me wonder , are any more rides like this going to be built? I live in New England and won't be hitting Cali anytime soon but if its this popular, maybe more parks with height restrictions will look into this idea...

I think the ride looks to be a real treat. However, I am still really confused on the 70mph speed factor. Is this accurate or is the park still using the old figures?

My guess would be that for the ride to hit 70, there would have to be some major braking going on someplace since the towers are now 150-feet.

Slower or not slower, it still looks like a fun ride.

Just got back from the park, The older version had more airtime, but this one has the holding brake and the ability to stall rides upsidedown or on your side, depending on where you sit. Im happy with it. The launch is still great and the GP doesn't seem to notice the changes.
