USH Off the Deep End!

I suppouse this "trend" of sorts started with Disney and the "Its a Small World Holiday." Then came "Haunted Mansion Holiday."

It seems that this year, Knotts has also entered the holiday competition with a re-themed version of the Timber Mtn. Log Ride.

But Universal has taken this just a step too far. Enter Santa Kong. Is it just me, or is this one of the strangest things you have ever seen?http://themeparks.universalstudios.com/hollywood/website/holiday2002.html

King Kong dressed up in a Santa Claus outfit with snow scenery? Its nice to have promotions to get the guests in for the holidays, but I can't imagine how this got past the drawing boards!

Has anyone actually seen this in person?

That's the funniest damn thing I've seen all day.

Haha. That seriously made my day. It's too bad they got rid of Kong at USF. Santa Jaws maybe?

I was on it when it wasn't all holiday-ish. It was really spooky to have that huge gorilla pop up and blow fog at you and growl.. but now.. from the deep and darkest alley.. comes... SANTA KONG. It sounds like a new Pokemon.

I can just see people on the tour getting incredibly frightened at first, and then burst out laughing hysterically.

I just saw that today. It is 'interesting'.

I wonder if Kong really holds the candy cane on the tour ride.

And if we learn one thing about Christmas from Universal, it just isn't a holdiay parade unless Spiderman or Spongebob is there :)

I feel bad for USH. They really can't do much in adding new attractions/rides to the park. And so they had to resort into turning King Kong into Santa Kong to try and lure guests to the park since SFMM, KBF, & the DLR have added major attractions lately.

Thank GOD Kong was removed from USF, because I don't think I could have stood to watch the park kill itself like that. USH already killed itself by getting rid of HHN.
