US Parks open midweek in September?

Hi guys.

We come to the US from the UK quite often for the parks in Florida and LA, and next year we're over in September.

We were going to do 5 nights in Miami/Sanibel and then on to Orlando but after the hurricane we don't want to intrude on the west coast in that area while they're still recovering, and there's not enough for us in Miami for the 5 nights.

We're travelling over on Saturday 16th and then from wherever to Orlando on Thursday 21st, so we've got 3 whole days to fill Monday to Wednesday that week.

What parks are open midweek outside of FL and CA? We really want to hit up some new coasters but most parks are weekend only by that point.

Part of their recovery is tourists coming back so I wouldn't stress too much about that.

It looks like Dollywood is open Mondays and Wednesdays next year.

Yeah, I wouldn't shy away from the Fort Myers area. They need you to come back. Not everything will be back, and some things may never come back. But restaurants and such need you to survive.

Are things back open down there? My perception is that things were decimated and it will be a long time before businesses are up and running again. I would guess that is the perception of most people. Granted I am not actively following the progress there as I did not have any plans on going there in the near future even before the hurricane hit.

If it was on a beach and made of wood, it's gone. If it's concrete and/or on stilts, it depends. They're talking about September though for their visit. Some of the places I follow, like Bimini Bait Shack, are targeting January to reopen. They're right across from the causeway tolls.

True - I didn't think of the visit timing, I was thinking of right now.

Just to answer your questions, as for parks that are open in September on some weekdays outside of FL/CA

-SDC and Dollywood are usually open 5 days a week

-Once Halloween begins (late Sept) BGW and Cedar Point operate Thurs-Sun

-The park at Mall of America is a 365 day operation
