Urgent!!!!!

I just bought the game today, and I install the game and when I launch it says "there was an error launching the game", then I realize that I needed to install DirectX which I did, then when I go to launch again, it says "Failed to create Direct3D Device". What the h**l do I need to do to fix the freaking problem?? I see that this has happened to some other people I believe, so if anyone knows, PLEASE TELL ME!!!!!!
I'm going to guess that you're experiencing a problem with your video card. Read the manual to make sure that the card is compatible with the game, then go to the website for the card and make sure that you have the most recent drivers. If it still doesn't work, then contact Atari's customer support.

Always contact the companys support before anything else for the quickest and most efficient answers...

After that's said... it's probably a video card problem.

whats the brand and make of your vid card, i did notice browsing the instalation disk that there are some updates for the ATI Catalyst cards, otherwise, go to the retailers site and download the latest. If not that your cards outdated.
Need your computer specs before this question can be answered accurately. But off the top of my head, it's a problem with your graphics card. But it could be a number of things. Specs, please.
Need a new video card...nuff said.

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

i got the same errors. it uploaded directx9 and then could not find it...
this was on my girlfriends 'puter.. changed the vid card to a gforce 4000mx 128mb 8x/4x...
thats when the fun started: could not longer play games w/ opengl... Best Buy is fixing this. they said i installed the vid card right... who knows...

I want to get the game, but don't want to waste my money... My puter is new, but I'm worried about the vid card. My specs are:
Intel® Celeron® D 340 Processor
Operates at 2.93 GHz
256KB L2 cache & 533 MHz FSB
Memory: 512 MB DDR
Video: Intel® Extreme Graphics 3D
64MB Shared Memory

Will this vid card be able to handle RCT3? Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

DJZac-- I have a similar video card and similar specs in my Gateway laptop. It runs the game, but with a few key things missing (no water!) I've been able to muddle through and still enjoy the game at this point. However, I do plan on upgrading early next year. If I didn't know my video/fps issues were only temporary, I'm not sure how long RCT3 would be able to hold my attention.

I figure after I get my new desktop PC it'll be just like a brand new game!

Ugh! Intergrated vid chips with shared memory.

Damn the "budget" PC makers!

Tell me about it. I don't use my laptop for gaming at all, but you'd think HP would've put something a little better to match the beautiful 15" 1400x1050 screen.

I'm throwing together a cheap-o system for my daughter for X-mas and I won't even stick her with the intergrated video on the MoBo.

And how graphics intensive can a 7 year old get?

You'd be surprised.
LOL, I hate integrated, they cause loads of problems, i've been fixing computers daily at my school all over the building, and most are integrated graphics gateways! Urgh...drives me nuts! My comp is the only one with decent graphics in my house thank god!:) oh your specs look fine, but as advice get a vid card! ;)
