UPDATED: Woman dies following accident on Raven at Holiday World

Originally posted 6/1/2003 7:51:42 PM: Holiday World issued a statement this morning indicating a fatality at the park involving The Raven Saturday night. A female guest visiting from the East Coast was involved in an accident at The Raven roller coaster shortly before the park closed to the public for the evening. She was not in her seat when the train returned to the station. A doctor who was a guest at the park, plus the parks' EMTs were on the scene within minutes and performed CPR and other emergency procedures until an ambulance arrived. The woman, whose name has not been released in accordance with the family's wishes, was transported to the local hospital, where the coroner pronounced her dead.

An investigation is underway and the park was closed on Sunday. Raven and Legend will be closed on Monday.
