Unlazy River - CoasterBuzz

Me and a kid at school had an idea for a water ride. Right now there are lazy rivers where you just sit there. Although I love being lazy I thought it would be cool to have an unlazy river. It'll be a river that has rapids, whirlpools, watercannons, etc. A river that you have to work through. But for safety It'll be shallow and will have a very padded floor along with padded walls.

So far I was thinking it could have:

1. Manned water cannons - like those by rollersoaker
2. Whirlpools
3. Rapids
4. Surrounding waterfalls
5. Giant fans - next to the river that'll make waves and hopefully make it harder to get through.
6. Bumpers - Little padded bumpers that you can bump with yer rafts
7. Waterfountains - decoration
8. Misters - Little things that spray mist
9. Geiser-like water cannons - Small holes in the floor that spray water like a geiser.

And if you guyz have any ideas

This sounds a little like the large river at CP's Soak City. It has some of the features that you have mentioned.

Sounds like a mix of a rapid sride and a lazy river.

Sounds like the wannabe lazy river at SFDL called Floodgate Falls, this thing actually puts you in pain. There are always tons of people stuck in so and so part and employees have to help push you along through the course. The horror...the horror..

I agree with you 100%. That ride is a nightmare. I do think that lazy rivers should incorperate some "Roller Soaker type elements" like water cannons etc. This makes it so that people who aren't riding are having fun too.

Well Renegade River at CP's Soak City has some elements like waterfalls and waves and some of the other stuff you mentioned

Snake River Falls at The Beach is like this. It starts with a curvy fiberglass slide. Then you hit the river section, which has rapids. Finally, there's a pretty big tunnelled drop before the end.

Yeah, almost all water parks have a rapids ride like this. They don't have water cannons or wind, but they do have rapids, whirlpools, waterfalls, and tunnels.
