Universal/IOA

I;m taking my first trip to IOA and Universal Studios this january. I was wondering how crowds are around then and if I should stay in a universal hotel so we get a fastpass thing.

Any and all help would be appreciated (sp?).

January is an ok month depending on when you go. I've been there right around New Years and the crowds are horrendous. I'd wait til at least mid January before going to avoid the HEAVY crowds. If not, definately get the fastpass from the Hard Rock Hotel...it will come in handy.

I'd be more concerned about the shortened hours of operation. Probably less people, but less hours to enjoy the park as well. It probably all balances out in the end.

I'd recommend staying on property. The crowds might/might not be low, but with the "front of the line" you get with your room key, you won't be waiting in any lines. Plus I thought the place I stayed at last year was very nice, and it was an easy walk to the park.

Don't forget to eat at Mythos!
