Universal Studios Japan sets record attendance, Tokyo Disney down

Universal Studios Japan set a record of nearly 14 million visitors for fiscal 2015, its fifth consecutive year-on-year attendance increase, according to operator USJ Co. The Osaka theme park saw 13.9 million people through its gates for the fiscal year that ended on March 31, an increase of 1.2 million from the previous fiscal year. Meanwhile, Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, drew 30.191 million visitors during the same period to its theme parks Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, down 3.8 percent from the previous year, according to Oriental Land Co.

Hence the huge investment over the next few years. As a theme park fan, I like competition. :)

I might be going to Tokyo Disneyland next month. Super excited to finally see this park after all of the good things I have heard about it. Really bummed though that Universal is too far from Tokyo for the short amount of time we will be in Japan. I really want to ride JAWS and BTTF again :)
