universal season pass options

I have the privilege of working in Orlando this semester. Obviously, one of the first things I want to take care of it getting a season pass to Universal. From looking at the options online, I will either get preferred pass or premier pass. The preferred pass includes free self parking for $199. The premier pass has free preferred parking and unlimited express pass after 4:00 pm. Does anyone have any knowledge about the express pass and how well it works? Thanks for any insight.

Is the premier pass worth it??

Well if the unlimited express pass is anything like what resort guests get, then you will be allowed to use the express line (which virtually every attraction has) as much as you want between 4 and close. That will give you at most a 15 min wait, and on almost any day a virtual walk on as much as you want.

I forgot to add that the price of the Premier pass costs $279

The thing is, if you're going during off-season time slots, you don't need an express pass. I've been there countless times staying on-property (where your room key gets you express access) when it was totally unnecessary. But the spring can be tricky at certain times, especially during Mardi Gras, when the place gets mobbed the days they have concerts.

From your post you said semester if you will not be in orlando through summer I would not get the premier pass
since spring hours are not open very late. if you will be
there through summer when park is open until 10 pm
6 hours of front of the line would be worth it to me.
I would not do it for the parking difference.

P.S. does anyone know if you get the premier pass if the renewal rate is cheaper ie regular pass renews at 99-109 so if same discount is offered renewal should be 139 or so
