With new guidance from the CDC and other health leaders in mind, Universal Orlando Resort is doing away with temperature screenings and reducing social distancing requirements at its theme parks. Effective Thursday, guests will no longer have their temperature checked before entering the property and the social distancing markers will be reduced to 3 feet.

Temperature checks mean nothing. At least half the Covid patients my husband has dealt with had no fever even if they had other symptoms and if you wanted to game the system you could just take a Tylenol half an hour before you arrive. Parents have been doing it to send sick kids to school and not get them sent home for a fever for years. Despite that, my workplace still makes me do a temperature check every morning and depending on who does it I get stuck in the "why is yours so low?" discussion again because that is just apparently how my body rolls. At least they finally stopped asking me if I've been out of state, just in time for me to have been out of state. Oh, send me home because I crossed the imaginary line, I'll be so devastated to not be at work where I'm being forced to wear massive amounts of PPE that are not necessary just because the program director is paranoid.
