Universal Orlando starts pitching Epic Universe with details about Celestial Park

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Universal Orlando began offering details about its new Epic Universe park, opening in 2025. The park will be composed of five worlds, and they've begun by offering more details about Celestial Park.

Read more from Universal Orlando.

And Disney does do this after a fashion. There are a lot of princess meet-and-greets plus the Frozen attraction in Epcot, for example.

I foresee my plans being successful.

Sweet. When you make it down here hit me up :)

Has anyone realized that there will be a fast train connection (Brightline)across the street @ Convention Center .So fly in take train to convention center ,cross street and take bus to hub and then bus to on-site hotel . I found a little mentioned one said Universal/Comcast is helping finance this. It will not be open when park does but hopefully within a few years.

Brightline only has a station at the airport in Orlando. There is no plan to put a station in the area of the OCCC. If Sunrail ever does really see expansion, it won't be close to OCCC or MCO.

There are plans. Just no money. I've watched enough YouTube videos on the subject to be an "expert."

What is known as the Sunshine Corridor Partnership seeks to connect the SunRail commuter-rail service in Central Florida to Brightline at Orlando International Airport, while linking the Orange County Convention Center, south International Drive and the Disney Springs areas.

But instead of a station on Disney-owned land, Brightline has its station at Orlando International Airport, then is expected to build stations at the Orange County Convention Center and an alternate site near Disney Springs.

SunRail is moving forward with the proposed Sunshine Corridor line that will run from the airport to Disney. SunRail executives told Orlando leaders they are exploring ways to pay for it. The line to the Orange County Convention Center is estimated to cost $2 billion.

Universal owns the land and has agreed to fund, construct and operate the station when the Sunshine Corridor is built.

Perhaps I should have said funded plan. To your point, it's all hopes and dreams. I don't see how they get the right-of-way to come up to OCCC unless they wedge it into 528, which seems like a stretch. The 417 route to the south, and onward to Tampa as they'd like, is certainly a lot less hassle.

Given the location of the Brightline station on the airport property it makes the most sense to continue south and hook up with 417. There is a lot of roadwork taking place on that road but there is a lot more Right of Way on either side of the road deck than it may appear as you are driving along.

What I don't know is what they do when they get to Disney property (assuming Disney lets them put a station there). I-4 comes closest to WDW property near Disney Springs...but it is a hot mess there and there isn't much available land to work with. It could somehow hook up with the Osceola Parkway and then a station could be built near the Animal Kingdom/Blizzard Beach area...but that area is pretty remote.

It will be fun to watch...if I'm still around by the time it gets done. Brightline is moving a lot faster than I expected it to, however.
