Universal Orlando sets CityWalk rule that minors must be accompanied by adult after 9 p.m.

Universal Orlando CityWalk has implemented a curfew for guests under the age of 18 on weekends. The entertainment district was evacuated late last month after a fight between "several juveniles" broke out in one of the parking garages, police say. Guests under the age of 18 will be required to leave at 9 p.m. unless they are with a parent or guardian, seeing a movie at Universal Cinemark or staying at a Universal hotel.

How do you even enforce this? You have to go through CityWalk to exit. Do you ask every kid to show a room key?

I'm betting this will be enforced on entry after 9:00 more than anything else. It is probably designed to prevent large groups of young locals from using it is a hangout.

The last few nights they evidently have had security sweeping up from both park entrances towards the main entrance asking anyone in their path around 9:30 or whenever the exiting traffic dies down, with several more hanging out near the escalators to the upstairs, and then I think just a greater number roaming around into the night (which sometimes was already a decent amount, there was one night several years ago when I was asked for ID three times from different guards while just chilling across from where the big steps are to go upstairs later in the evening. Had a drink, but it was obviously not alcohol). Obviously this is easier to enforce at the security checkpoints for new arrivals, but they seem to be getting a good amount to leave from what I've heard. Quite frankly, I hope this is something they continue for a while, including during HHN by requiring an HHN ticket after 9pm for those under 18. It sounds like they're escorting those that have movie tickets or say they're there for a movie over to the theater until they buy a ticket or go inside, as well.
