Universal Orlando opens its mini-golf courses at City Walk

Universal Orlando has hit a hole in one with its new miniature golf addition to CityWalk -- Hollywood Drive-In Golf. The courses are easily some of the best in Orlando. The two 18-hole courses officially opened this week. One, Invaders from Planet Putt, follows the style of a 1950s science fiction film. The second, The Haunting of Ghostly Greens, is themed after a classic drive-in theater monster movie.

Minigolf does seem to be a later-in-the-evening sort of thing.

Full parks, full mini golf.. Spring break in Orlando. I sit corrected.

The Disney courses often are dead until DAK starts to close, even during holiday and other busy seasons. Once the parks start to close, though, they get busy fast. I didn't get a chance to play last night (I was enjoying Sugar Ray, didn't get there until after 7, couldn't stick around after), but hopefully soon. The price seems to be a bit steep, but I've heard they've messed with it a bit already and are gathering a lot of feedback, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it come down more.

Can you schedule a tee time?

If they're smart, they'll price it dynamically based on demand. Clearly there's room to be cheaper during the day, and more expensive at night.
