[How many times do I have to spank people for doing cut-and-pastes of copyrighted material into the forums? Just don't do it! That's the glory of the Web... hyperlinking. -J]

What good news! Maybe I'll get a season pass again. I didn't renew mine last year becuase I was tired of the same old rides.

About that forwards and backwards coaster - hopefully it's not a Vekoma GIB! Anything but that. Did you read further down in the article? They said the only thing that Universal doesn't have is a merry-go-round in either of the parks. Someone needs to do some research.

Jeff,

The reason I didn't link it is b/c everybody would have to sign up for this website. I don't think everybody wants to receive emails on the business of Orlando. Close the post then if you don't want people to know.

You can also take a few minutes extra and paraphrase the material to avoid copyright issues.

What did the article say?

or alternatively, provide the link and "let the buyer beware".....;)

Just of curiosity, have you ever tried a GIB? Contrary to popular belief, they provide smooth, enjoyable rides. The airtime on those vertical spikes rival the best airtime on any full-circuit rollercoaster, and since USF is in a warm area, there should be no problem with the ride in colder weather.

Ozzyhead...SFoG was warm all weekend, and their's ran early on Saturday before closing for the rest of the weekend... so there are other "issues", but I did find the ride enjoyable on the one spin I got. I just found it to be *somewhat* better than the other Invertigos...but as they say, "to each their own".

BTW, absolutely love "The Osbournes"....:)

Deja Vu ranks just slightly higher than Rhino Rally. I would rather ride python at BGT than ride it again.

I have a grip..calm down. It's just that everytime I either try to post something in the formums or news, it either gets deleted or edited like this. Here's the link:

See, that wasnt too hard. He is just trying to keep his site running and avoid legal problems. Follow the rules, enjoy the site. Simple

Sounds good Universal. I need to start planning my next trip there soon. I would love to see one of the new Intamin hypers like Expedition GE Force.

I asked pretty directly....OK, you guys know me well enough....VERY directly, about the Kong rumors. They wouldn't give any comment on Kong (but I did grab a spin for old time's sake, just in case.... I may have jumped the gun a bit on them, but hey, I'm not gettting paid to control the rumors, hehe. They did mention Scorpion King at Guest Relations, in front of supervisors...but they spread rumors more than we ever do (ok, maybe not that much, but a lot).

If they DO get a shuttle (forward and backward, pretty good hint), I'm really hoping for a dual-station like Mr Freeze....which I've yet to ride.....*sigh*

Final note: Caro-Seuss-El may be a merry-go-round, but it is the MERRIEST-go-round ever, and always gets a ride since I now know to look for the "hidden surprises"

Sounds like an Impulse. They seem to being becoming more popular as time progresses. But the Impluse is just speculation.
Perhaps that "forward/backward" comment means that you can ride the coaster facing forwards or backwards, not that it is a some type of shuttle. Like the new CCI at Indiana Beach.

Since it appears to be going in the Jurassic Park area, it could be themed as an escape by jeep from a chasing dinosaur - like in the first movie. And you can sit forward or backward. imagine if they combined some of the spiderman technology with a coaster... that could be amazing.

Hmm. . . a forwards/backwards coaster in the Kong building? It can't be a Deja Vu because of its unreliable record and because SFOG is (relatively) close.

It can't be an impulse. What would be the point of enlcosing something like that?

I predicit something like a modified FOF, themed in an archeological museum (like in the Mummy sequel).

SFoG is close? Man, I gotta drive faster! Seriously, it's about 5-1/2 hours from me to Hotlanta right on I-75, and almost 2 hours from O-Town, also right on I-75. Atlanta is North Georgia.

Anyway, NOT interested in another GIB (Gigantic Impotent Bomb). I don't think an impulse would fit in Kong (height factor)...so that leads me to believe some variant of a spaghetti-bowl. Being multicultural as Orlando is, maybe we'll call it a "rice-bowl"...?

Ozzy: I have ridden a GIB, and it was nothing great. Everybody has heard everyone complain about how horrible they are over and over, so I won't go into it.

The ride in the Kong bldg will probably be more family oriented. It seems like all the rides at USF are more toned down as compared w/ IOA.

As far as at IOA, I doubt they'll get a woodie by JP because the people that live behind there (Orange Tree development by Dr Phillips HS) have been complaining since before IOA opened. They'll have to get something quieter to appease them. I also doubt a GIB or an Impulse becuase it's IOA, and I'm sure it will be something of greater proportion.
