Like so many decisions, value will depend on the person. Lots of different benefits with Prime. Some of which will be more/less important to different people. Buy where you find value and don't where you don't. Amazon likely has a fair number of people who have been long term Prime members who maybe originally were getting value who are now getting much less (maybe to the extent that its not worth it in terms of other options) but don't cancel the membership. At this point, seems like a lot of businesses are offering free shipping. And dollar thresholds seem to be dropping to be free shipping eligible.
I've also stopped ordering from Amazon so often b/c their in-house delivery service is noticeably worse than when they were outsourcing it, particularly to my apartment. It's reportedly better going to the house, but only b/c they can drop at the porch there (and we are okay with that.)
