Stupid for-profit companies, analyzing their customer base to determine by how much they can raise their prices.

Florida parks can do this because they are major vacation for most families, and the people are willing to spend more on a rare trip.

However, Universal is definitely one of the most overpriced experiences in the theme park industry. Overall, their parks have a small number of rides/major attractions, and waaaay too many of them are video based. On top of that, one must pay a high price for their line cutting pass (which is included in the price at Disney.)

Islands of Adventure is a beautiful park though.

And yet their attendance isn't hurting...

Why is this a problem? No one bitches about the fact that every other attraction at Disney is move-slowly-past-animatronics.

Our 12 year old bitched about it last summer. He summed up his opinion of Universal by saying he wished he was at Cedar Point so that he could ride some real rides.
