Universal on site stay=front of line all day!!

The most glorious news ever has passed before me. Starting next week if you visit Universal in Florida and stay on site at one of their hotels (Portafino or Hard Rock)you get front of the line access all day- park opening to closing. IT'S TRUE, IT'S TRUE!! I almost had a seizure when I found out. I'm in the Hard Rock hotel come February. Imagine getting up when you feel like it, strolling over to the park and riding everything all day with no wait whatsoever! Most rooms in these hotels are pricey- the cheapest Hard Rock room is $150. But for no waiting all day, it now seems like a pittence to pay. I will ride until my brain collapses...
One when i whent to Universal Studios in July. My parents lost their credit car in IOA, so they went to report it to the lost and found, and also to cancel the card. For the inconvenience(sp?) the nice people at Universal, gave us front of line access for both of the parks and for the rest of our stay, which was at the time 3 days.
I was so happy beyond believe.
I stayed at the Portofino back in August. All You do is show the attendent your room card and they bring you up the exit and right on the ride. The only thing was it ended at noon. But from 7-12 we rode everything in both parks.I still have my room key so next time i go im gonna try it.I just hope they dont look at the date on the card.
anyone know if this is indefinate and if so if the hard rock will have specials in summer(I am making a return trip in late may or early june) and this sounds sweet and worth spending a couple extra bucks for.
Why are more and more parks having such things . I've never been to a park w/ frot of line this or no waiting that , the whole system seems unfair . If anyone can explain it and as to how it becomes fair I might at least understand the system , as far as I stand now , I've excluded Disney parks (FA) from future plans just because they have such a thing .
Its pretty much an extra perk to get people to stay on site. The only hotel open there now is Portofino, and there were not to many people useing the pass.To me it didnt seem to affect everyone else in lines wait time.Usually there are a few empty seats on the rides, they just fill them up with the people with the passes. And also while i was there it ended at noon.I dont know if it is all day now or not.
Thats sooo cool :-) im going to Universal and IOA during Thanksgiving break but i dont know what hotel im staying at becuz my sister and I r meeting my aunt & uncle in Florida. Its gonna be sweet!!!
Parks are a business. Period. In business, if you have an idea that you think will bring in revenue, you implement it. This is a perk to get people to stay onsite. If anyone chooses to boycott a park because they feel something is unfair, that's their right, just as it is the right of the park to offer any perks they want to get people to use their hotels. As a Hard Rock guest, of course I support the program. They only have two hotels- it's not like millions of people will be cutting in front of the regular line. Any large park who operates hotels must keep them filled by offering perks to justify the expense of staying onsite.
I really have no idea how the system actually works , it's something I've never seen in action . I was commenting on the front line pass in general . Seems like regular vacationing people might not like the system . Do these people have a special line or come in the exit , does a ride op tell the next person they have to wait ? Disney and some of those parks are costly , plus to pay even more to get to the front of everything ?
You show your room key to the person at the front of the line and you go up the exit I believe is how it works. Your room key is dated with the dates of your stay. Regular everyday folks from other hotels may not like it, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it!
In the past, going up the exit ramp to bypass the line has been the norm. However, if you think about it, in doing so you miss out on most of the theming and set up for the ride. This is especially true on Dragons (love that castle), Spiderman (the whole storyline happens in the queue), and even Men in Black. Once you've waited the line and seen all of this, granted, bypassing isn't as big a deal. But, for those that are going to the park for the first time, not walking the queue at least once sorta destroys all that work that Universal went through to theme the park so well.

I agree. I thought the MeninBlack attraction was outstanding. The queue was amazing (inside that is). But I would like to know what were the lines like in the summer. Cause when I was there 3weeks ago, we waited an hour and 10minutes for it and it was on a Sunday!!

I went early last june and did that with universal express. When I went on MIB they couldn't even get enough people to fill the cars up all the way. Did it twice and thought it was pretty cool.
Anyone want to buy my room key from Portfino.Just kidding.I did hold onto it just in case.It is so worth spending the extra money for the hotel just to be able to get to the front of the line.
