Did IoA feel complete upon opening ?

I know I'm often the only one that feels this way, but I still feel like some of the Orlando parks still don't feel complete. Yes, Walt Disney World is a complete (many complete) experience. As is Universal Orlando. But some of the individual parks on their own, to me, still don't feel like a full or complete experience. I can enjoy a full day in a park like Cedar Point, Kings Island, Hershey or Great Adventure, even after decades of multiple visits. But boy would I struggle to do the same at Islands of Adventure or Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Animal Kingdom is in that set for me--and that's despite the fact that it might be my favorite park overall for The Vibes. I can't figure out why Rivers of Light didn't last more than a handful of years, except that it just couldn't hold people in the park long enough to justify its existence.

Hopefully the Dinoland reboot will help.

Agreed. I guess that’s why park hoppers are so common now.

I would venture few people just get a 1 park/1 day pass anymore to those parks. The value isn’t there.

to me, IOA did feel “complete” compared to Animal Kingdom or the 2nd Paris park at opening. However, it has certainly grown since then (as has USO).

having just visited AK and guided family through it, It still feels like it’s missing one or two experiences (looking at Tropical Americas Dinoland)z

this may be an unpleasant comment (and I know i’m being that guy), but i worry about the capacity of EU. Wolf man looks miserably short/ under capacity, and Donkey Kong looks worse. (are those mine carts only 4 seaters?) the boat ride course seems woefully short, and the sky fly rides only hold 12 per cycle. Even with 2 of them, that’s not a lot of capacity.

so, it will take a full day to do everything at this park, but that might not be for the right reason.

The UO and WDW parks all feel like full-day parks now, to me. I don't do that myself, because I know what I like, but friends visiting tend to stick to one park per day. It definitely wasn't always. The UO parks needed a hop ticket, and Hollywood Studios was tiny for a very long time. A lot has changed.
