For almost four weeks, two dozen workers have been walking a picket line at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The union says Six Flags did offer a three-year contract which includes reasonable raises, but it also stipulated no overtime for working more than five consecutive days.

I wondered what was going on there. I was driving in and saw a bunch of picketers. I just assumed it was the Flashpass staff picketing for wage increases due to the increased amount of work bad ride crews are giving them.
For anyone in the area, have there been more ride closures as a result of these mechanics picketing?
I believe under California law they have to pay them overtime if they work more than five consecutive days at the designated work hours per day.
None of the rides were closed when I was there. All were running well. The only breakdown I witnessed all day was Medusa for maybe ten minutes. Nothing spectacular.
