Um, WTF, Jeff?

Um, this was, as far as I can tell, the first thread hijacked by the CPG in A LONG, LONG TIME. I can understand you closing it, it's your board, knock yourself out. What I don't like is the accusation that we sit around all day screwing with every thread on this board. Take a look at what's currently up here and you'll see maybe one or two that involve joking around. The rest is straight-up coaster-geekery, which is apparently all that's allowed on here. Allow me to say "boooooring".

WHAT THE HELL is wrong with a little humor now and then? How many pointless discussions can we really have on "what's your favorite hyper?" and "what kind of dipping dots do you like?"? The only reason I even read coaster sites anymore is to find out what park's getting what and to see what sort of humor the experts on here and other places have come up with.

I guess I'm leaving the demographic for this site, because I'm much more interested in what a 20-30 something-year-old wag has to say than in listening to teenagers talk how much "SFMM r0x cuz tehy got eleventeen bajillion c0asters".

C'mon, man, lighten up.

*Roffles* Brian's question was already answered in that thread and I know he was perfectly happy with what was there. Dawn and I knew the thread would eventually be closed/deleted, *but* we also figured your sense of humor was still marginally intact to at least get a giggle out of it and then move on. That's pretty much what probably happened, but I think Dawn, Moosh, Bass, Bill, and myself are fairly helpful to people in getting what they need out of a thread first or at least at some point.

I understand the thread being closed, we did post some pretty racy stuff there [after Homey's question was answered, BTW]. But I don't hijack every thread I get involved in.

In fact on page one of General Forums I am involved in 9 topics. Only one was hijacked, and that happened today. None of the topics in the Trip Reports forums that I am participating in has been hijacked by me, as well as none of the News topics I've posted in.

People have been complaining to me that an otherwise interesting thread gets overrun by dozens of irrelevant posts with inside jokes by the same people, and I agree. It's not interesting to more than three people, and everyone else feels left out.

If you've got some concern, e-mail me directly. I'm not interested in getting into pissing matches about moderation here anymore than most people are interested in reading them.
