Two boys injured on fair ride in Kentucky, safety inspectors spread thin in state

Two boys were on the Sizzler, a ride at the Mercer County fair July 25, when the safety bar restraining them "just came loose," the mother of the boys said, and the boys were thrown from their car.

When I first saw the words "injured" and "Kentucky" together, I couldn't help but think of SFKK at first. Well, it looks like they're going to be alright.

In this article, I want to point these things: They have had 13 injuries in the past 3 years in Kentucky. Only one of these accidents was ruled as a mechanical failure!! They have had three accidents this year though. The SFKK thing was a mechanical failure, and this Sizzler one is too.

Isn't that amazing that it's the people, and mostly not the machines that cause the accidents? I like how they add that 3 have been killed, and 9 have been injured GLOBALLY. And how many people have been on this ride that have never been killed (300 million??? They don't say how many people have been on a Sizzler model GLOBALLY.).

Spinout, Sizzlers have really bad track-records versus normal Scramblers.

Why I never get on fair rides...

"If it don't run, you ain't making no money," he said.

All I can think of in this is "Meet the Facklers".

Forget what goes around comes around. More like what goes around will throw you out of it.

Here is another fun thought. My local fair is coming up very soon at the biggining of september like it does every year. Most of the ride operators take good care of there rides and have some sort of passion for the job, however, it scares me when I walk aroung the park and see guys that look like they were smoking the pipe the night before (not tobacco or mary jane either) and are in no shape to be responsible for the ridders in the park. Seriously though, some of these guys are no good dead beat people. I not one to judge a book by its cover but I mean come on.
