TWO B and M's for SFA in 2001

All I saw last weekend was some sewer pipe and some playgroung equipment for the picnic grounds. That stuff was hiding in the woods near ROAR. As for anything else behind the colonial house under repairs, can't see in there because of all the scrub, probably why they would hide coaster parts there if the have any. Also, I had heard therumors of the waterpark being moved to either the back near Superman, or to a side, near one of the newer parkinglots.

Six Flags America IS a Six Flags park!
Maybe B&M hasn't gotten worse, maybe its everyone else that's improving

You build it, I'll ride it
Hey Raging Bull, you guys are always complanig about how samll he park is how it is not a Six Flags park.
So, do you guys think that the stand-up and floorless are out of the question mow because of the confirmed dutchman. Although Six Flags Magic Mountain is getting 3 coasters, and SFA is kind of favored in their coaster distribution like SFMM.

B&M's ARE still top of the line imo. Until I ride a looping coaster not made by B&M that is as smooth as Medusa at SFMW and Riddler's at SFMM, I'll still think so. B&M's are not built for airtime. Their loopers are built for turning us upside down and high speeds. Their hypers are meant for pure speed. Plain and simple. If you want airtime, ride a wooden coaster. In my opinion, no other company is as brilliant as B&M when it comes to making the perfect coaster.

Now, on to the rumor about SFA. God I hope this is true. I get to go to the park on my east coaster tour next year. A massive stand-up bigger than Riddler's would be awesome, but a floorless to boot? That my friends, would be like heaven on earth. This is doubtful though. Maybe one or the other, but not both. Just my opinion. Peace. :)

I dunno about that! Raging Bull offers some AMAZING airtime! More than almost any other coaster I have ridden, steel or wood. Just thought I'd mention that ;-)

For starters, I got this particular rumor from what I now know to be a bad source, so I apologize. Now, on to better news, the new Dutchman should be a blast. Nice to know that the park is still keeping up on the capital improvements, event though they could rest on the laurels of four coasters in three years:).

Everybody calm down, the coasters do not open for another fifteen minutes.
Do you think that the stand-up is still a justified decision along with dutchman?

I agree CoastingClay, the B&M Megas most certainly WERE built for airtime, and speed second. Apollo's Chariot has somewhere around 26 seconds of airtime!

Coasterman J, have you been on either of the two B&M Megas? From what you wrote above, it sure doesn't sound like it. (Note: That was just a question, not to be interpreted as a flame. ;))

In the future, packages will be sent to distant worlds by BEAMS OF LIGHT! - Space Mountain WDW exit
From the looks of his track record he hasn't, well of coarse we have know people to lie...

Yeah I would have to say the the so-called 'speed' coasters were built for anything but speed. If speed was the goal, there would have been more flat straight sections *achoo*MF*achoo*.

As far as the standup goes, it was supposed to be a GaScorcher sized ride NOT an RR type record breaker. Though I think a sitdown/floorless would be better anyway.

P.S. WildOne: SFA has added FIVE coasters since '98: S:ROS, JJ, TF, Roar and dont forget the Great Escape (hey, it is a coaster =]). Have Fun at the EastCoaster!
You mean the Great Chase, ad they also removed 2 coasters.

No, it was Supposed infact supposed to be bigger than RR.

I think the park will get a stand-up and a flying dutchman because i remember reading somewhere that the park will add 3 coasters in the next 2 yaers and they already added s:ros.
Cool, hey Superman what's your AOL IM name, maybe we can discuss this over Instant Messenger.

No coastergenius, the stand-up was supposed to be small. Look at the original plans submitted to the PG county board (I gave the link in a news item). On page 2, item 2.2 it says:
"Attraction No. 37 - a stand-up coaster which will be approximately 140 ft. in height and which will be approximately 3,000 ft in length."

Thats nowhere near the measurements for RRv. Anyway, who knows now that the flyer is taking place of that attraction.

Actually Legendary, I haven't been on the B&M hypers. When I wrote that, I was thinking afterward that I would get some flak for that comment. ;) I understand now that the B&M hypers, as with most hypers, are built for speed AND airtime. I retract my statement. Not the statement about the stand-ups however. Peace. :)
