Twelve-year-old girl has anti-beer petition for Six Flags Over Texas

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

A 12-year-old girl has collected hundreds of signatures for a petition opposing the sale of alcohol at Six Flags Over Texas. Christi Campbell, a Six Flags season ticket holder, said she doesn't want the amusement park to sell beer. She said she called the Arlington City Council to see what she could do after she learned Six Flags had applied for a permit to sell beer.

If Jesus visited SFOT, do you suppose this oh-so-righteous girl would petition Him to stop turning water from the water fountains into wine?

If she was raised an atheist and had heartburn w/ SF promoting a "religous atmosphere"

Why does she care? She isn't even old enough to drink. Wait till she's a teenager when she starts trying to get her older siblings, cousins, and/or friends to buy her beer!

Why don't she get a petition against something that is REALLY annoying, like those basketballs! There is nothing more aggravating than 12-year olds running down crowded midways bouncing those things not watching where they are going.

Now THAT is offensive! ;)

You don't see me signing a petition to oust the Jonas Brothers, so keep the 12 year olds out of the beer debate as well.

Hi

I've never seen so many people get so angry at a 12-year old.

See what alcohol has done to you all! You're mean drunks. ;)

No, I'm a happy drunk.

The problem is that I'm sober right now. ;)

CoasterqueenTRN is so right! Please get rid of those basketballs! And while we are at it how about shoes with those stupid roller skates on them!

I am not much of a drinker, but really do not care if other people do. I have never really seen any major problems at parks that security could not handle.

Pittsburgh, City of Champions!
Steelers + Penguins
2009 What a great year!

Same here. I rarely drink, except for A beer w/ dinner at the end of the week. As for drunks, security can deal with them.

Well .. This girl in the article would have had a hay-day if she were at Busch Gardens Eurpoe last weekend. Gentleman got escorted out of the Festhaus/park, full of liquid courage. Then proceeded to kick the windows out of the police car.

Im sure that would have been tried to leverage her cause I guess. But personally I've seen sober kids act more out of line than plastered adults.

I suppose its skewed perspective or parental motivation for her anti alcohol actions.

I'm all for anything that will reduce the number of 12-year olds in a park. If it means selling beer, bring it on.

Amen to that. The less teenage zombies stumbling around theme parks in a text message-induced fog, the better.

This is pathetic. Shame on an adult for pushing a kid to support their agenda.

^LMAO! I couldn't agree with you more! ;)

Well, it's a kid, people can be chastised for "not supporting a cute little girl"

Exactly why I referenced the "Harbucks" South Park episode...this is NOT on a child's agenda.... ;)
