I desperatly want to see some pictures of TOTC. I would like to see the hills where the loops are now, and I would like to see the trains. PLEASE!
I saw a pic from a friend a while back (it wasn't online) and I remember the trains being A LOT smaller, and closer to the track. It looked almost like a pipeline train. That's all I can remember of.
I believe the trains remained the same between the same (different logo/paint job), but it's been so long my memory's fuzzy. Anyone remember?

AMERICAN EAGLE!! (RED TRAIN)BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm bringing this back to the top because I kind of want to see some pics of it too. (and I'll probably get yelled at for starting a new topic about this when this one is here)

V2, Deja Vu... how can it be better? Add Viper! Oh, wait. It's already there!
Does anyone have pics of TOTC? OR are we wasting bandwidth here?

What is life without it's ups and downs
I remember stumbling across a site that had pictures of SFGAM when it first opened and of the parks early years. All the early coasters and long lines at that.
To answer your question - I don't know the website, but if it's still out there check it out.

What was differant with the Sky Trek Tower Cabin? I head it had like, 4 levels or something like that? Does anybody have a pic? That seems kind of far-fetched to me, not to call anybody a liar or anything like that. And if it's true, is it the same cabin, just reduced? I wonder how they would do something like that, and why. Well, maybe not why, but definately how.

I think he was talking about the cable cars.

While I don't have any pictures of TOTC per se, I remember that the hills were where the loops are now. Plus, the track was gray, there were no tunnels, demon effects, etc. The trains are the same arrow trains, but they have been modified several times.
At one point, Mariott's Great America had two cable car rides. One was called the Southern Cross, which started in Orleans Place and went over the Western part of the park to where the demon is now. The other ride went from where the Funnel Cake foundry is now to Condor. It was called "Delta Flyer" and "Eagle's Flight". Also, the swings used to be in County Fair where Iron Wolf now stands; Bugs Bunny World was smaller and called Fort Fun; there were old time cars where Roaring Rapids is now (AKA White Water Rampage), the Edge stood where Power Dive is now...the list could go on and on.
Am I missing something?
I didn't know that Demon wasn't always Demon. How was the ride before the modifications? Was the sorkscrew there then?

The corkscrew was the only inversion when it opened. I believe they added just the loops and tunnels. I've always wondered what the airtime was like going over the bunny hills.

The sky trek may have had 2 levels. Unlikely though. You might have seen that at seaworld (they have a 2 level tower).
Supposedly the TOTC had good airtime. Too good in fact...busted the track. Had to remodel.
