TTD In Machine Design Magazine

Top Thrill Dragster is featured in the latest issue of Machine Design. The most interesting part of the article to me was the fact that TTD reverses the usual arrangement and has the magnets for the magnetic brakes on the train with the fins on the track. Makes a lot of sense with the amount of braking on TTD.

Xcelerator did that as well. Yeah, with the enormous length of finage on both rides, it probably makes more sense than putting large magnets all over the place and moving them up and down all the time.

If we're talking about magazines...Entertainment Weekly also mentioned the cost per vertical foot of TTD in the "By the Numbers" section of the magazine. It was around 59,000 I believe?

I play in a really awful garage band, but it's still fun.

TTD was also in the June issue of Reader's Digest. It just gives a little blurb on it. Quite interesting to see all the different publicity TTD is getting. Did Millenium (sp?) Force get this much when it opened?
