TTD down. Any info why?

I wonder just what makes TTD's and KK's launch system break down a lot. How complicated can a launch system be?

No kidding...my 7 year old cousin with an IQ of 70 built a machine that launches 10+ ton trains from 0-120+ mph in a matter of seconds. It's SO simple!!!

I bet TTD is closed until Friday.

That's what I heard too.

You know Impulse-ive, that is the biggest load of crap that I have ever heard. TTD is just down due to a mechanical reason. Why would CP actually try to modify what they already have problems with. It's just dumb and illogical. TTD may not be open for awhile, but when it opens again, it will be the same coaster that it was when it broke down.

Uh-oh. Someone's sarcasm detector is broken...
Be sure to use a AAA-Certified technician when you get that fixed.
I realize that it is sarcasm, but it still makes no sense.

Actually they are going to add a 9000ft coaster section to it after that drop part.

^^ Still on the fritz, eh? ;)
Why is it every time TTD is down people wonder why... and coaster can be down at any given time. This happened to be TTD on Sunday.. end of story.

Perhaps they need to empty their accumulators and zero the encoders.
I have a friend and his father who are going to CP tomorrow from Nebraska and I had read that TTD closed over Labor Day weekend. I just checked CP's site now and it is listed as closed today and they are trying to repair the ride yada...yada...yada.

My question - is that message there because the Park is closed today and it's in like a java script type of thing, or, is the ride still down for maintenance?

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
Funny thing is no one gets all worked up when Millenium Force is down. It was down for a night and the following day in early August when I was there. Oh the people at the park b***h and moan but no one on here says 1 word.

Watch the tram car please....
MF signature ride for 2000, Anticipointment less than

TTD, Signature ride for ????
At least its the main reason people are going to visit for.

Chuck

But MF is the Best Coaster on the Planet ... at least in some people's and a certain park's mind. So if marketing isn't even pushing TTD why worry if it's operating. That's my point. ;) Did I complain about MF being down? There is enough to do there without it. But that was until I got in line for TTD with the herd of people!

P.S. MF is my number 1 steel coaster.

P.P.S. just saw an article from the sandusky register linked on another site which states TTD may be done for the season. :( *** Edited 9/8/2005 6:25:20 PM UTC by dragonoffrost***

This stinks...I googled it and found the first few lines of the story. It seems it went down Friday night and will probably be down for the rest of the year.

I am going to CP for Halloweekends and taking a friend that has never been anywhere but WOF. He's going to be disappointed because I have been telling him about the ride.

Whoa! Deja Vu! Another Intamin ride at Cedar Point that's possibly closed for the rest of the season? Didn't Wicked Twister just do this?

Bummer, that means I'm missing out on Dragster this year completely. Ah well, there's still another coaster to ride there I think...

Could this mean both stratacoasters are done for the seson? Whatever CP *found* that was wrong, I'm sure they got GAdv on the batphone and warned them about *yet another* potential problem with Ka...

Maybe they could start launching with giant rubber bands? ;)

Wicked Twister was up and running when I was there on Sunday.

Yes, but Wicked Twister went through the same trouble last season. It was closed at the end of August and reopened for the last two weekends of that season. This is why it seems like Deja Vu to me.

Same story, different Intamin ride.
