No seriously, I would be reluctant to use an outspokenly military theme for a fun machine like that - fighter planes have a fascination I share, but they're also built to inflict damage and death on others.
I admit, it's hard to find a more compelling visual metaphor to theme TTD than the ariplane carrier, though - and there's also several "Top Guns" around - plus the new famed "Silver Bullet" at knotts.
There were three main kinds of fighter aircraft in "Top Gun".
F-14 Tomcat = The large, swing-wing fighters flown by the main characters (Cruise/Kilmer).
A-4 Skyhawk = The small, triangle-shaped wing craft flown by the instructors (Skerrit/Ironsides).
F-5 Tiger = Painted black, these were what stood in for the "MiG"s (Movie Extra bad guy #1, etc...).
Swoosh,
what kind of WWII plane do you fly? P-51, P-47?

I love how you try to compare Cedar Point's "color style" to SFGAM's non-colorful coaster colors, mind you that the 2 all black coasters are 1. The oldest coaster there...Demon., and 2. The original Batman the Ride, only recently did they start painting it some other colors. And all-dark-green ride, hence...the Whizzer, another park first, new in 76! Nice point you tried to make.
Have you not seen Raging Bull's color scheme, vibrant Orange and "Wine" purple.
And it's impossible to miss Deja Vu's electric green and blue.
Vertical Velocity's yellow and teal are pretty bright too, woops.
So before you decide to knock a park and its bad ride color choices, check how old the rides are first, for me.
Thanks! :)

I think "non-primary color Intamins", is another winning category for EGF.

My personal winner concerning the use of color on a coaster in general is Talon.

An alternate theme would've been better. If the trains were themed to F-16's and the station was an aircraft carrier, the entire thing would make more sense. Take off, climb, nose-dive and roll, land. Can't say I've seen any real dragsters suddenly go balistic.
even though it is unintentional, dragster cars do flip balistically, out of the blue
their called accidents
