TR:TR Pictures

Do you think PKI will allow you to take pictures of the ride/on the ride at media day?

Definitely. They may say not on the ride itself or 'be careful', but the point of media day is for the publications to get the story out, and the 'story' usually includes photos. Expect a lot of photo taking.

But, this is not an ordinary ride, and PKI is going to great lengths to keep the actual ride a surprise for everyone. They may not let pictures be taken of the actual ride, just pre-show elements, theming, and happy people saying how great it was.

Nick,

I don't think we will be seeing any cameras being allowed on the ride for media day. Usually, cameras aren't allowed to be carried on a ride during media day (depending on the park), but rigid mounted cams usually are installed and tapes are switched in and out for each news station.

However, I believe it is very possible that due to the nature of the actual ride (whatever that may be), footage of the actual ride room won't be shown. Nothing official mind you, but just an idea.

Well, there probably won't be footage of the actual ride, but I guarantee the ride will no longer be a surprise for a great many people after the media day......news will travel like lightning about exactly what the experience is.
I can imagine it now...people with laptops, video cameras, and digital cameras all sitting on the ride taking pictures while uploading them to their website, while having a video camera on their shoulder simultaneously broadcasting the ride on the internet and one hand on the cell phone telling their friends exactly what is going on as the computer screen illuminates their lifeless face, who has no clue what the ride is about or what they are experiencing because they are too busy with all this high tech crap...lol

do we have a coasterbuzzer going?

When is Media Day, if you don't mind my asking
It's also possible that taking pictures may not show the ride experience. The descriptions used make me suspect that there may be visual elements that are projected. Shoot a few photos in Spiderman at IOA and you won't have anything to show your friends.

Since the invitations haven't been sent out and I suppose that no one knows the date scheduled for Media Day yet, we may not know this as a definite for a week or two. I also think Shaggy said that they may limit the number of those they're inviting this year, because of security reasons or something like that. Maybe not. :)

I think Jeff usually goes, then sometimes they invite a couple members from ACE to go that may be members here as well, and I might be going. There's probably a few others too I don't know of.

Usually, the taking of pictures on any ride at Paramount`s Kings Island, or any other Paramount Park is strictly forbidden for safety purposes. So don`t expect to take a camera on board with you on TR:TR.

Also, Sean F, had said a while back, that because of the secretive nature of this ride, invites to media day would be limited to a select few. Also, since this is not a roller coaster, there may be very few ACE members invited.
