trolleys at SFGAM?

How come they are so rarely used?
Trolley? Those tracks are for the parade.

It's probably a saftey concern. Considering how crowded those paths get, do you really want a heavy object to come rolling down the path? You never know when some kid will push his brother in it's way. That would be my guess. It's probably just for saftey.

There actually was a trolley there when the park first opened. I am not exactly sure when they stopped running it (I am guessing when Six Flags took over) but the tracks are still there all the way from Orleans Place to Hometown Square and are used for the parade.

Those tracks are annoying because they fill up with water.

I need to use the Pipi station.

SFGAm still has the trolleys, I remember seeing them in the parade in the 2001 season.

Welcome one and all, y'all come have a ball!
Things a bear-y fine, ridin' on the old Knott's bear-y line!

What is even worse about those tracks is if you are pushing someone in a wheelchair or a stroller you face a real good possibility of flipping it when you have to cross them. I remember "launching" my ex out of a wheelchair from trying to cross the track too fast.

Yes, the trolleys are still there as MF6279 mentioned. They utilize them in the parades.

If you really want to ride one, just stand over by Triple Play when the dance and music show ends in front of the train station. A couple of employees will come out and ask for volunteers to ride the 2 trolleys in the parade.

2 superheroes in Gurnee next season? Oh the humanity. :)

If my memory serves me correctly, when Marriott owned Great America, the trolly tracks made complete circles around Hometown Square & Orleans place. I thought last time I was there for fright fest, I could see where they paved over the tracks in Hometown square (by the train station).

I must agree with Kick the Sky in regards to the tracks. On one of our trips, one of our group had been injured (prior) and had to be pushed around in a wheelchair. It got stuck in the track rut. That and trying to push it up the exit so she could ride Shockwave... who designed that travesty they called an exit? Also had to be careful in the AE line.
