I'm so sorry . . .

(Had bad experience 4th of July 1997 - never again.)

Back-seat air-time whore.
most people think uh-oh the Point is open very late 4th of july...it must be fore the crowds.Well its open light for the firework show...like always some rides will not run during the firework/laser show. Crowds should be average to below average..nothing to worry about. You dont need to plan more than you would any other day. Just start with MF then hit the back of the park until 1:30..at that time get ur TTD stamp and then just rides the rest of the rides at will...try to hit the front around 5 and ud be good

Jar may have gone on a day when crowds were "average to below average", but the two times I went, the park was pretty busy, and even the normally empty queues for Magnum, Mean Streak and Gemini had 45 minute waits (both times it was sunny and warm).

Hopefully you are staying on Point so you can take breaks, and not have to deal with departing traffic on the 4th.

That said. the fireworks are more than worth it! If you are going to be there both on the 3rd and 4th, you'll have plenty of time to ride everything, and if you take advantage of the ride n slide, Soak City is a great way to spend a few hours.

Maybe I'm just spoiled by the very low crowds early and late in the season.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

more advice please
Your first 2 replies were as good advice as any. Read the stuff in those links. The only thing different about the 4th is the night they do the fireworks. Some rides don't run during them, and the traffic leaving CP right after them used to be AWFUL. Not sure these days, but in 1997 it took us 4 hours to get back to Sandusky. Adding to our problem was that we were actually parked within the park, not in the main lot. Still, the causeway crawls after the fireworks.

45minutes for Magnum and Mean Streak are pretty average in season times...
I was at CP this past weekend and enjoyed the park on both fri. and sat. Friday night we got onto everything (front seat) with NO wait. Saturday there was more of a wait, but not too bad and we also took advantage of the "FreeWay" pass stamps (MF 11:00 am and TTD 2:00 pm)-----wait in the freeway stamp line(they are near the ride entrance) at those times, get your hand stamped and come back at the time the stamp is for------they give you an hour window. Two of the best tips I got were to park in the Marina parking lot and take advantage of getting in an hr earlier then the general public if you stay in a Cedar Point resort.

Have a great time and enjoy the view from the Power Tower!

One more thing-----watch out for the bugs at night on the rides. Try to get your front seat rides in during the day, at night in the front ------there are sooooo many and they hurt.

WHEN SHOULD WE EAT LUNCH?

WHAT RIDES SHOULD WE HIT FIRST?

IS THERE A CERTAIN WAY TO WALK AROUND THE PARK?

WHAT RIDES SHOULD WE GET A HAND STAMP FOR?

THANX

Dude...if you can't figure all that out for yourself you have no business going to the park.

CHILL OUT!

Go back and read the FIRST TWO POSTS in this thread. All your questions will be answered.

Two hands, one for each----MF and TTD.

coasterguy: you've been registered on the site for all of five hours. As far as I can tell, you haven't listened to a damn thing anyone has told you in either thread you started.

Go away.

eat at johny rockets

WHEN SHOULD WE EAT LUNCH?
Eat at Midway Market around noon...and eat a lot. Eat so much you will not want to eat dinner. Its a buffet so the noon prices are a lot cheaper. Eat There Until 1:30 at that time get in line for your TTD stamp

WHAT RIDES SHOULD WE HIT FIRST?
Start with MF then get ur stamp then head back towards Mean Streak and stay back there, coming as far up as Magnum, until it is time to eat lunch.

IS THERE A CERTAIN WAY TO WALK AROUND THE PARK?
I prefer the one foor in the front of the other method...if u get too planned out your day wont be fun. Just be polite and stay to the right of all paths(cant believe some people dont know to do this)

WHAT RIDES SHOULD WE GET A HAND STAMP FOR?
MF and TTD, you wont need it for anything else. Dont get one for Raptor around 5 lines are under 20minutes usuauly

The Dog on a Stick are great in the back of the park by Mean Streak. They go good any time of the day. Enjoy...
