Trip Report 10/28/01to Sfmm

Associated parks:
None

Well we got to the park at 8:30 and learned that we had just been through an earthquake and my friend and myself were the first at the front gate. At 9:55 they opened the park and I ran like hell to Goliath. I was the first there and got to be on the first train of the day front row. Then we went to Colossus and rode it backwards once w/ no line. Then they let us go up again and at the top of the lift hill we got stuck! We just sat there for 5 minutes and then the lift chain kicked in again. We then rode B:TR in the second row. Next we hit RRv and as we were about to get on it broke down for about 5 minutes. Still we got to ride and it was awsome! By this time it was 10:30 and we went over to Deja Vu and the line was 2 hours long! We skiped that and went to Thrill Shot and rode it twice and also rode Dive Devil. Then we had lunch and then rode Goldrusher and then went up the mountain and waited 30 minutes for S:TE. After that we went on Ninja and went down the mountain and hit revolution 3 times in a row! Then we went to Viper and the place was empty! We rode 5 times and (Note it appears that there is a sign on X that has an advertisement looking to belong to the No Limits game. Also there was a sign w/ stats for X on the station. You can get a great view of the entry sign for X from Viper also.) We didn't get to see X test but it looks like it could open any day. As for the rest of the day I forgot what I did but I went on Batman 1 more time Goliath 1 more time rode Flashback 2 twice rode Swashbuckler twice rode Canyon Blaster 4 times and went on the Yosemite Sam's Falls once. Then we went to Deja Vu and the line was 3 hours long! I was desperate and waited. Right as I was about to board the ride went up the tower about 25 ft. and stoped there for 10 minutes. They lowered it down and did two test runs and for the second run it almost got stuck on the second tower. Then I boarded and rode in the very back. That was awsome! Then we left the park at around 9:30 and during the day I took 2 rolls of film and 4 pics. Some of the photos will hopefully be on my site later this week! Trust me these are some of the best i've ever taken! I did not break my 56 ride record but got 47 due to the wait for Deja Vu.

Well that's my report, hoped you liked it and like I said check on my site later this week for new pics!

My coaster buddy and I were also at SFMM on Sunday, 10-28.  We waited in the morning for Deja Vu (a little over an hour) and the train right before us did the same thing you described.  One of the engineers/mechanics came into the station and did a manual override.  We were waiting for row 16 so we got to see the whole operation.  He was able to bring the train back into the station but couldn't get the floor to come up to unload the passengers.  Since they couldn't unload the passengers to test the ride once it was fixed, they left them on the ride and then gave them a re-ride for the inconvenience.  Only six people got off before the re-ride.  We then got to ride, and I agree with you, the last row (two outside seats) is an incredible ride.  You really get pulled around the butterfly turn.  We checked out the line twice later in the day and the wait then was two hours or more so we concentrated on the rest of the coasters.  RR twice, front row; Goliath twice, back then front; Batman twice, front then back; S:TE; Ninja; Flashback; Colossus backwards; Gold Rusher (for old time's sake); and Viper.  We had also gone for Fright Fest and waited for Willoughby's Haunted Mansion when it first opened at 5:30 p.m.and then used our Fright Fest Fast Lane passes for front-of-the-line access to all three mazes after that.  This was a great way to do it since the lines got pretty long for all three mazes.  I didn't have to buy the passes because I won them in a contest but I would recommend it for those who don't want to wait in the long lines.  It would have been difficult to do all three mazes by 10:00 p.m. if it weren't for the Fast Lane passes.

my friends and i went to the event there and paid $18.00 per person and that included the haunted house which has a separate admission. while everybody was at the haunted house, we rode boulder dash about 20 times including 6 times on ert, getting three double rides. we rode the wildcat once in the back and it was out of control. we gave our haunted house tickets away to a mother and her three sons one of whom was born on halloween we were told.
