Travel Channel's 'Family Vacations Week' !!!

Starting Monday, May 6th, the Travel Channel will be airing a week long special TV event titled 'Family Vacations Week'. After seeing the commercial, it was strange that all of this event is basically coaster shows and amusement parks (never before seen of course). They showed Goliath, Shockwave (SFGAm), and many many other popular coasters. Somehow, and this is an awesome thing, I get the feeling they should have titled this 'Coaster Week', seeing how for a whole week long, at 8pm every night, most if not all of the shows concern amusement parks and/or coasters! Get ready to set those VCRs!!

Wow, that sounds awesome. I'm going to have to go to the store and get some more tapes.

Later this year they will be running a 'thrill ride' series also!

Excellent! There is nothing cooler to cheer up a work/school day than settling down to some coaster shows at night.

Thank God! We need some new specials....We definetly need a channel for coasters all the time!
I think the only problem if we had a roller coaster channel would be having enough programming to keep viewers intersted without showing the same shows over and over. A friend and I toyed with the idea and the way I thought about it was why not show no programming from midnight until 9 am. Then at least the programming spreads out.

The former Newbie to coasters. Ridden 100 coasters. Not so new anymore :)

I would just do specials for each park in the World at either 1 hour or 2 hours depending on size and information and it would cover in detail the park coasters, rides, and operations. Then, they would have the shows for new coasters, rides, attractions every year. If they at least focused the channel on thrills or extreme experiences like Discovery is doing with the "Wings" channel, I think it would be a really good idea... for us at least. :)
I am setting my VCR now....= )

I can see it now...coming home from school and turning on the Discovery Coaster channel:)
