Train Dimensions

I am working on a school project in Mechanical Drawing, and I want to design my own coaster car. I was wondering in anyone has any basic dimensions or "rules of thumb." Also, if anyone has pictures with dimensions, it would be a great help. Thank you.

I'm guessing that the only 'rule of thumb' is make the train relatively (sp?) comfortable, so good leg space is needed as is harnesses that will fit most guests.

There are only 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who dont.
Take a look at B&M trains- they're pretty flawless, design-wise.

I'd say the trains are about "yay big".

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Actually they are a smidgen bigger than yay big.
Are you talking about B&M's wooden coaster trains Rob"?
;)

When does your home park open? You could always bring a small tape measure with you.
I'm just looking for some simple dimensions like; track width, thickness of tube, radius of the tube, length of car. Thanks.
