Which do you prefer. Old classic woodies or new steel giants? These new steel giants are killing away the wooden population.

Well i Like S:RoS at SFNE ALOT but i also LOVE YANKEE CANNONBALL!!! so... i cant really pick!?

What is killing away the wooden population? Not steel coasters, I'll tell you that. It's family parks with woodies going under that are "killing" them. I bet you can't name a single steel coaster that replaced a wooden coaster. Look at Idora, and now Whalom. It's a good thing Americana is still alive.

I prefer the old classic wood coasters.My top 2 coasters,the Vancouver PNE Coaster and the Puyallup fair Coaster Thrill Ride track very smoothly,yet deliver a thrilling ride you can't get at a Six Flag park.However I will ride any coaster,wood or steel,given the opportunity to do so.

Steel coasters aren't replacing the wood coasters. They just aren't building a whole lot of wood coasters recently.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.

Actually they have built a lot of wooden coasters recently though this year is going to be slow.

I had to chuckle a little at the title of this thread. Since the oldest coaster in the world was built in 1902, the only coasters that aren't 20th century are the ones that are 21st century.

It's all about the airtime !

I don't care if it's made of toothpicks or bent coat hangers.

They both have their benifits and downsides. I really don't care as long as it provides me with a good thrill. I'd take a woodie over a steelie anyday though.

Personnally I like the NEW steelies better than woodies,with the exception of my #1 Beast and #8 Son of Beast at my PKI homepark.
