track sighting, kinda

My sister said that she saw a support going by her on the toll road in indiana. It was heading east and was silverish, "as though it hadn't been painted yet", in her words. When I showed her some of the shots from the Cedar Point construction she said they were smaller, with many track joints.

The truck was heading east into Ohio, from Indiana.

Is SFO building a new coaster?

...or maybe CP is building 2...

Cedar Point: America's Rockin' Roller Coast!

or maybe more of CP's coaster.

For all we know, it could be a sewer or water pipe.

Maybe its supports for a close to the ground element foe SFWOA's rumored hyper. I don't think the colors would be right for CP's new coaster.

That would be my guess. I've seen many things on flatbed trucks that resemble steel coaster supports. Also, if it looked as though it hadn't been painted yet, I seriously doubt it was a support.

Track Record: 116

The supports come prepainted. It must be for something other than a coaster unless someone is building a coaster with silver supports. Would not be for CP.

The worst day at Cedar Point is better than the best day at work.

CP's track comes via Lake Erie in all cases doesn't it?

Aren't the supports for the pull-in/pull-out silver as of now? I'm not talking about the big yellow monster of a tower...but the single supports under the pull-in/pull-out track...

Edit: Hmmm, maybe they are really white and I am just having a tough time because of the discrepancies between the pics on different websites, the lighting, etc. etc. Arghhh.

Um, no.

CP's steel is being shipped into Detroit, just like MF. It is arriving in shipping crates also, not on flatbeds.
CP should build some sort of dock and just have them brought in on a barge right up to the peninsula. It isn't that far out of an idea if you think about it, it is possible.

87 different coasters for this year and counting... 149 total!

Um, even if steel were coming out of Detroit, it would still be cheaper and easier to move it over the water than it would by road.
I am pretty sure that CP's steel is not the only thing on one of those ships. That is why it is shipped into a big harbor and then all of the stuff on the ship goes its own ways, usually by truck. The trucks coming into CP say Michigan Transport all over them and under that it says Detroit, MI. Jeff, you did say MF was shipped through Detroit right?
