track length

Whenever I click a point on the NL autocad type format, I always wind up getting a huge piece of track that is curled up and all distorted. How would I go about getting the desired track length??@?@

Top Thrill in the front row... anything else is lame

Using the different views (top and side), drag the vertex around until it's at your desired location. After that, click on each of the two vertexes that border the track segment and adjust the control points (the little white lines with dots on each end) until your track piece looks the way it should. If the track segment in question should be straight, then you can select it, right click, and click on "make straight" to line it up.

Well there is at least one trick you can use.

Select a vertex on the track and when you create a new vertex it will automatically be placed at the same distance/plane as the selected vertex.

Other than that it's all about adjusting the track until it looks like what you want. The 'Make Straight' function is useful as is the 'Snap to Grid' (the SNP button). I almost always work in grid mode until I need to do fine adjustments to the track.
