I arrived at the OSF grounds about 11:30 worried I was going to miss my noon meeting time with Beast at Night if he was comming but I was in the grounds and paid for and at the designated meeting spot at 11:50.
$5 parking
$1 Fair admission (I think that was today only.
$17 for all day ride pass.
This was my first time ever to any state fair and one of very few vists to any fairs but I was Super impressed with the ride line up.
I couldn't wait on Chris so I figured I'd just ride and I would see him from line or be right back so I hopped on CRAZY MOUSE, (Reverchon) With two other people who had never ridden one before....
Let me say this right now, OUTSIDE OR INSIDE, This ride is a HIT! and what made CRAZY Mouse better for me is that it never had more than a 5-10 minute wait! WOOHOO and Goodnight IRENE! The marathoning was on!
Well, I did wait for Chris to show for about a half hour but at 12:30 I was riding the Crazy Mouse repetitively about 10 times in the first hour and a half of my visit :) .
About 1 I decided to look around at the other rides ect. Special note was a Galaxi named Avalanch and I had to wait till late to ride cause they were still assembling it and inspecting.
I swing back around the the west side of the park and see a skydiver and then a ride I had never seen let alone ride. MAGNUM!!!!!!! This ride is a cross between a Anton Calypso, A surf Dance, A tilt a whirl and a CHAOS! I must say that MAGNUM was like no other ride I had ridden, You spin around on your axis (Like a Tilt, The car spins on a 5 tub axis (Like a Calypso) and the tub rocks/flips on it's own center axis (like a Chaos). I must say the ride left me totally disoriented from flipping forward and backward as well as in circles. SPECIAL NOTE, Be careful getting in and out of the cars as they will flip you straight out forward as I found out the HARD WAY and was dumped about 4ft out on my arse! I am quite bruised.
Other rides are a Gravitron, A Super Loops, A KMG ride like a afterburner but with seats facing inward (Looked quite intense). About 25 walk/ride though trailer mounted fun houses, A giant wheel and a Double Ferris wheel, A Dragon coaster that is a coaster and a Dragon coaster that is not a Coaster, A Whacky Worm that is Coaster so that Brings the Coasters to 4. I rode three of them and skipped the fourth on purpose as my next coaster will be 200, (Probably SFWOA's new hyper) There are a ton of other rides like a Adult Frog Hopper as well as a S&S kids version. A tilt a whirl, A version of the ARROW 360, a Scrambler and many other rides.
I was impessed! Lets see, For $23 bucks you get about 50 rides, Livestock shows, Entertainment from puppet shows to full blown concerts, (Some are extra like Travis Tritt and Willie Nelson). Any kind of food you could possibly want and 20oz. Coke products in the machines for $1 thats right not $2.50 or $3.50 like corprate parks.
I went back and rode the mouse about 5 more times and the Avalanch for the first time and took another Magnum ride a gravitron ride and the Wacky Worm for #199. (My first whacky worm). I walked through some of the livestock exhibits and looked around a bit and left about 4pm as it was just so hot.
I could have easily spent the whole day there and I recomend it. 4 coasters are available with 2 being really for adults and 2 jr. coasters.
Hoped you like this and have fun.
Charles Nungester who will go soak his bruises from being dumped on MAGNUM and then almost falling on the slick platform after my second ride :(

Came back from the fair yesterday and I was VERY dissapointed with the Fireball. It was running GREAT but the ride time was only about 30seconds apposed to a good 1minute+ ride time last year. Oh well, if that is how the carnival ops wanna run them, then that's how they are going to run them.

Ok, I need to get to this fair... :) That Magnum sounds intense, and then toss in that KMG Fireball...
Hmmm, 4 coasters would bring me to 197 -- I just might hit #200 this year after all.
