"I want to go back!"
I’ve already written a 6-page spiel about this park, so I’m gonna keep this TR nice and short, bet you didn’t think I could write a short TR!
I don’t know what it is about this park, but it just keeps me coming back for more. Silver Comet was running excellent Sunday, and I got 4 rides on it despite that I was there only for the after 5 special. There were some interesting things going on in the Q, first the one ride op was hand-slapping everyone as the train left the station, I really liked this of course. The ride op Dennis was also up to his usual antics, like taking out the fire extinguisher and threatening a bunch of girls with it, and also threatening them with various other objects, such as the lap bar release key and a hammer, it was very funny. I was also very tempted to tell Dennis that we were talking about him on the SFDL forums on coasterbuzz.com but I didn’t, but I think if I make it back one more time this season I’m gonna tell him that I wrote about him in my TR. Speaking of the lap bar release key I didn’t see it being used as much on this visit as I did on the last.
This was my first time taking an intentional 2-click ride on a coaster, thanks to Dennis who pulled up on the lapbar instead of pushed down on it. It was quite fun taking a 2-click ride on a coaster with a loose seatbelt, and I did it in the back too so I got a lot of stand up ejector airtime. It was wild! Ill say it again, this coaster is so much better in the back, in the front you get no airtime and too much laterals, in the back the laterals aren’t as intense and you get more airtime. I don’t really like too much laterals cause it hurts me, so I definitly like riding in the back better than the front.
While in the Q for the Silver Comet I was also stopped by a lurker from coasterbuzz.com who told me he reads coasterbuzz.com every day. I had my home-made coasterbuzz.com button on and that’s how he spotted me so that’s cool. We talked about coasters and stuff about local parks for a while before we took our ride. I am going to order some real r.r-c buttons as soon as I get around to it, but for now I am wearing home-made buttons.
Of course I also took a ride on the flying bobs, this being one of my personal favorite flat rides, the loading was painfully slow, they had a few cars roped off, and the ride op walked around each time several times tightening everyone’s seatbelt, this was very annoying and I did not like it at all mainly because it slowed loading down to a crawl. The line was also pretty long for this ride. This is the ride that I always get on first before anything else when I go to this park.
I also rode the Chaos while at the park and liked the ride more than I thought I would. It wasn’t really as intense as I thought it was going to be, I only got one really fast flip near the end of the ride. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that I was riding alone in the car.
I had restraint problems again with the Zamperla kiddie balloons, I almost broke out of one of the seatbelts this time, they seriously need to put long seatbelts on all the cars on this ride, not just a few. I have figured out a solution to this problem if it ever happens again though, I can just take my Locostrap and use it as a seatbelt extender, I believe it would fit perfectly onto these seatbelts as it has the same type and style of buckle. Either that or I could just go unrestrained because they let adults do that on this ride.
Well I guess that wraps up a really short TR about a fun day at the park. Its pretty fun just visiting a park for a short period of time, especially if it’s a park you’ve been to before, if you only go for a short time you don’t come home all tired and worn out.
I can't wait to go on tuesday! Glad you had fun.
So that dennis guy, does he surf coasterbuzz? I'll tell him I'm a member when I go.
