TR: Heaven or Hades?

Hi all!

I'd originally intended on writing a full Trip Report on my rides on Hades this past weekend, but I ran out of time! I'm heading off to a long weekend starting at PKI on Thursday and ending up back at the Dells next Tuesday, and I wanted you guys to see my pictures before I left!

http://24.15.195.209:2711/jcpics/widells/hades.html I'm sorry if the pictures take too long to load - I edited them rather quickly, and those of you on dialup might just hate me for a minute. ;) It's worth it though. :) I also took some short video from my digital camera & added links to them on the page as well.

In short, Hades is a *fantastic* ride. It's intensity matches Raven, Legend & Tremors, and if this is what Gravity Group has to offer, I can't WAIT to see what they have in store for us in the next few years! The tunnel is crazy-intense, and I think I gray out upon entering it - although I wouldn't know, 'cuz you seriously can't see a *thing*! It reminds me of that moment on Raven - at night - after the 5th hill - when you kind of go "WHAT?! What just happened?" You almost don't notice the 90 degree banked turn either, because (1) you hit it so fast, and (2) it's so dark! But you can see the light at the end of the tunnel (ha!) while you're in the element, and there are some major G's while you pull out, which make that light look really fuzzy. Yeah, it's crazy. The tunnel is where it's AT on this coaster.

Oh, and the beginning! Hades might just overtake Tremors as having the best opening to a coaster. Tremors has 2 incredible pops of air, right? Yeah, Hades has 4. FOUR!! The back is the best seat, and you get (1) yanked out of the station, (2) hit a Cornball-Express-ending-type major lateral pop to the left and immediately (3) hit a POWERFUL (I'm talking POW-ER-FUL) double down before you can catch your breath! Then you (4) hit yet another lateral pop to the right as you turn onto the lift hill.

***Don't believe what you've read so far!!! Hades is AMAZING!!!***

Thanks for coming by and sharing your pics Julie. I will check out your videos when my internet stops acting up. I agree Hades is Amazing. And yeah, there are 4 pops (back seat) before the lift including one super intense one.
