It's taken me a few years and quite a few trips up to Cleveland to finally get to go to Cedar Point again. I've been living in Richmond, VA for about 8 years now, so I have yet to experience any of the major coasters at Cedar Point yet.

At 10am my friend, his friend, and myself started our day at the local IHOP for a chance to try out their new pancakes and other food. I love their French Toast. Anyway, we left after discussing who should be in the new Harry Potter movie, with such people as Sean Connery, John Malcovich, Christopher Walkins, and Will Ferrell.

We arrived at the park at noon to find all the rides working reliably, with the exception of Wicked Twister due to the winds today.

The first ride of the day today was Gemini, and like the rest of the rides, was my first ride on it. The ride is not a rough as I expected, and the first drop was great with the head chop at the end. This one drop gave me more air than other first drops! Good, but nothing great. 6/10

Our next ride was Magnum. We sat in the front car, last seat and I was surprised with how jarring it is on the last few bunny hops in the last seat. Oh well, due to that, I have to mark it down. 6/10

After this we headed to Raptor. The line was 1 1/2 hours long. The ride was smooth, like a B&M should be, and I agree with some that the cobra roll is getting a little rough. The ride was the only ride today to get me very dizzy. Still fun and the best inverted I've ridden on. 8/8

Next was Mantis, which I hate. Yes, hate. I also hate ALL stand ups. This gives you head banging, it's very rough, and not very fun at all. 5/10

Next was a dinner at Johnny Rockets. Get the Smoke House burger, trust me. Also, great Onion Rings.

After a quick stop at the arcade and as we watch the uber great DDR Extreme players. Next, we hit the big guys...........

Millennium Force- The one ride that in a while scared me. 300 feet? That scared me truthfully. But I sucked it in and went for it. It's not as bad as you would think, and the ride was fast, fun, and SMOOTH, just a little short for me. Line was 2 hours long. 9/10

Top Thrill Dragster- This was it. If Millennium Force scared me, Dragster had me ****ting in my pants. 420? Ugh.... We waited 1 1/2 hours and rode at night. This was hands down the highlight of the day. Fast, furious, and fun. 10/10 even if this was a short ride.

What would have to happen on a ride for you to give it less than 5/10? :-)

Well, it would have to steralize me (Shockwave, 3/10).

I agree about Mantis. Too painful to be enjoyed. But a 6 for Magnum ? Oh well I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion (even if it's wrong :) )

I'll probably reride it latter on in a different seat, that'll raise the score. It was a great ride, but the lap bar shoving into my thigh took away all the good parts IMHO.

Riding in 1-3 was your mistake...that's the ejector seat. Try riding in the front, or in the middle of a car instead of over the wheels.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

Glad you made it to The Point and were lucky enough to get a lap in on TTD. Next time, ride it in the front seat. It's twice as good in the front.

I am one of the few that loves Mantis and do not have a head-banging problem on it. I don't know what I do different that I don't have a problem, but it has never bothered me.

I plan on riding the front next time. Also, with Mantis, my friends are taller in the torso than I am, so that could be a reason why.

I still do not feel the head banging when Im on it?

MF was too short? Isn't it top 5 for length for steel? *** Edited 8/14/2004 5:18:16 PM UTC by ApolloAndy***

Not saying it was bad, just a little short. It's my number one coaster now, but I would have liked to have mabey one or two more hills for more air, then it would be perfect.

You mean like Magnum? ;)

Seriously, though. I understand what people are saying about MF, but I think it's great that CP focused on something new (sensation of speed) for MF, even though it probably wasn't as well received as it may have been if it were packed with air hills. At least they went for something a little unique.
